Upgrade to 5600x &3090 and almost had a heart attack when I cut on my pc and couldn't get anything to display even after resitting everything. Trying this tonight. Just s friendly note... be sure you are on the download page for the "gaming ii". They look almost exactly alike and files are even named the same, but if you download the wrong version it will not work and frustrate you endlessly.

the USB needs to be anywhere up to 32GB - the bios file is only 32MB so a really old USB stick should have enough space, but can't be more than 32GB as that will not allow a FAT32 format only NTFS or exFAT due to the size. I press and hold the button for the count of 3. not really necessary but just something i have gotten into the habit of doing

If you have a working pc get the bios on a usb stick unzipped and boot into the bios with the old processor and flash from inside the bios then reboot and check it worked then change the cpu

I have tuf gaming b450 plus 2, a updated to latest bios 3810, I had problem running ram with xmp profile, I changed sth and I doesn't start (no display). Same pendrive, connected to correct USB slot, I pushed bios flashback button for 3s, it was blinking green, now it's stays green for 20 min or so. Why the led indicator still is on? I have the very board but, after many drives, clearing CMOS, many formatting process (reset to default, 3rd party programs & command prompt) nothing seems to activate the BIOS FLASHBACK. ALL drives are between 4-16 gbs and fat32 usb 2.0 yet no activity at all.(no led indication that it working) what am i doing wrong?

Hello was watching your video to try this… followed all your steps including cleaning the flash drive from command prompt, however I plugged in the usb to flash the bios and after I pressed the button there was no light or blinking from the light, not sure what to do or if I did anything wrong (I updated my bios the first time I got my motherboard back in February 2022) not sure how else to get the bios flashback to work

Mike after doing the bios is it ok to unplug the power cables (24 pin & 8 pin) because i wanna do the bios before installing any parts to my motherboard

no the 2600x will still be supported in the latest bios, but if the system is working okay, i would be hesitant to update it unnecessarily

@@mikesunboxing Thank for The aswer. I was thinking about update because my ram frecuency Is not full speed. They aré 3200mhz but The motherboard just run on 2700mhz. When i put manually at The full speed it reset to BIOS.

Hello Mike! Just a quick question for clarification: I’m getting this exact MOBO delivered this week. I’m going from an Intel I7-7700k -> Ryzen 5800x. So I don’t have a backup Ryzen to check my MOBO’s BIOS. My only question is how do I KNOW I need a bios update? I’ve seen from others the MOBO Box will say “5000 series ready” on it. But I feel like that’s leaving it to the hands of people I most likely can’t trust lol I suppose if it does arrive this week with that sticker on there, I’ll just fire it up into its F1 mode through the motherboards HDMI port and check out what BIOS version it has?? Any suggestions? Thank you!

the sticker is the best way to begin with as the factory will put the sticker on if the board is flashed with a suitable bios. if there is no stick just flash it before you start building

My pc with an Asus Prime B550 has been working perfectly until today. It does not recognize my M.2 ssd with windows 10 on it and boots into BIOS. Looks like there is a new bios update but its a Beta version and im unsure whether it will fix my issue.

try switching to CSM / UEFI boot mode or maybe the m.2 drive is not compatible with the slot?

I did all of that and even updated the bios but still the same thing. The m.2 was compatible since the last few months. How can it suddenly lose compatibility??? Motherboard: Asus Prime B550MA Ssd: Sabrent Rocket Q 1TB

only update the bios if you are having problems or for security or compatibility reasons

I recently updated my bios via internet by just selecting the download file of the recent update. Does it work the same way as just a usb flash drive? My bios says it’s in the latest version but idk if there’s a difference or not so I can install my 5600x onto the b450

My current Gigabyte board allows me to flash the BIOS via a windows app. Is there a similar app for this board to initiate the update from within the OS and then just let it reboot or is the method you've shown, although very simple, the only method available?
