That is crazy! The amount of reduction in noise absolutely phenomenal. And for that kind of price...wow! 2-3 years on one set of batteries is amazing! It does look easy to clean in case of a “Cider spill emergency”. Always paranoid that I will kill an expensive RGB keyboard that way. I am sure I will be buying several of these in the near future! I always wanted to get the MK keyboard and mouse deal but could never justify it but I think Im gonna treat myself to one of these, always handy for when Im in the office but working away from my desk in a meeting room or something. I've been using the MK270 for a very long time now (a couple years) and it's still an absolutely excellent keyboard and mouse set - to the point where I'm very apprehensive about moving on. However, my needs have since changed and I now need a keyboard and mouse with features that suit my needs, however I'm considering purchasing the upgraded 295 simply for its silent touch function, and for the familiar feel. All in all, absolutely excellent set for casual and gaming use, highly recommend.

Perfect. Lately my MK270 was really annoying the hell out of me and I didn't want to spend 200+ for a MX combo. One thing you forgot - but maybe it's specific to the 270 - was to test for flex during typing (270 tends to sag down the middle even when I don't use the legs) but from what I could see from the underside they added pads where it should help so fingers crossed.

MK270 in fact was the best keyboard Logitech released (that one with Logitech label, not Logilink (?) thing that is awful currently due to very pool plastics). I wish I could buy MK270 again, it was almost as perfect as Logitech Navigator keyboard :) Or better, I would buy Navigator again :)

Have seen your Review now. I'm owning this set too. And all I've to say is that is does it's job verry good. Normaly you didn't need to have hardware that is that expensive. For me the price isn't a guaratnor for quality over all. And for the most users I didn't think that a lot would recognize a difference between the cheap and the expensiver one in normal use conditions. So when all you want is useing your computer it's all you need I think because it does the job with a quiet good comfort. The hight isn't that much and it feels like a good compromise between normal hight keyboards and a laptop one. Really like the feeling of the typing of the MK295 Keyboard. The Rubber is stiff and you get a good response of what is goeing on. Even with the good quality of Logitech you should get a good product over all with a good lifetime. Thanks for your good review.

What I don't understand about these two keyboard-mouse combos is that there seems to be two slightly different versions of each model. One variant has a large inverted L ENTER key while the other variant has a small rectangular one. This applies to both the MK270 and MK295. This is important to me as I much prefer a large Enter key which used to be practically universal on old keyboards. Some online shops even display the two variants (large and small Enter keys) in the same listing.

In older Versions of the MK270 they included a unifying receiver, and in later versions donwgraded to the "nano", which in some cases was still programmable. Then the K270 (keyboard without mouse) still comes with unifying. I would be cool if they came out with a K295 or MK295 version with unifiying. Thanks for the review!

i just got this for work so i haven’t tested it out at the office yet. instead i tested it with my personal m1 macbook pro and obviously that doesn’t have a type-a slot so i had to use a dongle and the keys are SO crazy unresponsive. obviously coming from the scissor switches, i’m used to exerting only minimal pressure for the keys to register. however, for the mk295, i almost have to drop the entire weight of my fingers down on the keys just for it to register. otherwise, i type literally broken words because half the keys just do not register at all when i press it. is it because it’s not directly connected to the mac? or does it really just take a lot of pressure to get these keys to register?? these weren’t that expensive but i’s hate to spend $20 for nothing as the store doesn’t have a return/exchange policy for preference.

As someone with some sensory processing issues, a quiet keyboard with a decent tactile response is something that I’ve been looking for in a long while but had no luck due to the clicky mechanical keyboards popular on the market today. I noticed that you opened up the keyboard to reveal the membrane layer, but I was wondering if you had a look at the switches and the keycaps themselves. Are they compatible with cherry mx aftermarket keycaps or are they something proprietary. A quick glance at the silent touch white paper tells me it’s the latter.

The worst thing they do now is to bundle a mouse and keyboard with a single receiver... Most folks already have a mouse, or want a better mouse, so that's just landfill right there as a compulsory purchase... Why don't they give a tiny discount if you want to skip the mouse??? Also a big step back is the loss of the unifying function (these new keyboards won't register or work with your older mk270r dongle.).

Hey man! Thanks for the video! Was actually looking for a really silent keyboard as my wife always gets mad when Im clicking on my old one.. I only game at night so it should be an awesome buy! Any other silent keyboards you can recommend? I only saw that one in store close by but would love to get some more options if possible! No need it to be a mechanical but would love some low prpfile laptop like ones :)

there was a low profile wireless one we did recently that was pretty quite, made by seenda

I loved the keyboard, but I wish it came with Unifying receiver. I would like to use it and keep my M720 mouse. My old K270 has Unifying receiver, but I bought only the keyboard separately. Maybe that was the reason. Thanks for the video, great review/comparison. :)

thanks for watching and i agree the unifying receiver would have been awesome

Coming from a mechanical keyboard, and even my Dell latitude laptop, I found the keys in the 295 unusable. Constantly not registering taps, typing accuracy is horrible and fatigueing. I think the extra material that makes it silent, makes it very non-ergonomic.

Great review, I can't make the move to mechanical boards, rubber domes are just too nice. I've just picked one up and my only gripe is the actuation force is a bit high compared to a microsoft equivalent keyboard. Maybe it will wear in! Cheers

Another great review mike. I'm typing this on my 270 which i bought about a year ago on the back of one of your reviews. I think if i was in the market for another combo keyboard and mouse i'd definately give this a go. At the moment i will stick with the old faithful the 270. The new one looks very good at the price.

when i reviewed this i was very aware of the fact i still have the mk270 knocking around here and still has tons of like in it
@adamwalter25732 жыл бұрын
stick to 270, 295 is not ergonomic and leads to mistyping too often (too shallow keys).

BOOORING wireless input devices! Gonna give this video a 10 out of 10 though because this KZbinr is a ruggedly handsome stud whom I find charismatic and charming. 💓

I liked the (M)K270, used 3 of them, but they tended to degrade quickly (membrane, character stickers). I'm afraid the k295 will be the same. I switched to mechanical, though the characters did disappear quickly from my CM CK350, too :( .
@mikesunboxing3 жыл бұрын
i think the newer ones use a different process (no surprises there) so the older ones are much better made and longer lasting

@@mikesunboxing I've been using a K260 (keyboard + mouse wireless combo) for about ten (!) years, typing on it as we speak. It still functions pretty much perfectly, which is insane for a $25 combo.

Was your mk270 labelled Logitech or Logilink ? They seem to be completely different products (quality).
@ta65052 жыл бұрын
@@adamwalter2573 Logitech, all of them. The membrane problem is a bit more difficult to spot, because it is a gradual degradation. When you buy a new unit (after 2 years or 10+ years, it's up to you), the difference will be obvious: you'll be able to type more quickly and with less effort on the new unit as the new membrane is much quicker to return the key to the original position and has a different feeling to it. It may be a general issue on membrane keyboards but I've been a Logitech fan and I have not really tried others. I'm kind of surprised you did not have the sticker issue, however, because it is always very obvious in my case: the letters n, m, k tend to disappear first. (Which is no longer the case, BTW, because I've put the Logitechs on the shelf, returned the Cooler Master and bought a relatively cheap Redragon mechanical with double-shot injection caps).

Nice review 😉 i have been using logitech mouse and keyboards for years. I hope they Will introduce usbc receiver (nowadays really needed with all newer devices, many users switch to bluetooth mouse from an other Brand only because of tablets, laptops with usbc only. I am looking forward to delivery of my first m220 mouse. I use approx 5pcs of m185 (works briliant, but all of them had to be tune up with tape over battery compartment 🙂 realy low holding force, many times lost in a laptop bag)

mk270 was louder....but the overral ergonomics was far better. But there's one issue with mk270 - they've changed material from plastic was created and it is...cheapy now.
