Thanks Mike for taking us along...The copper plated rod is a grounding rod to ground electrical systems. They must be driven a certain depth into the Earth and must retain the stamping near the dull end to prove it hasn't been cut... That big bend on the stamped end makes it undriveable and you can't cut off the stamp or it is no good for the inspector....

Mike, that copper coated rod is a grounding rod for a house. Usually cost about $40-50 at Home Depot.

That Copper coated Rod looks like a Lighting Rod, you hammer it down by your home and ground it - too that Rod. Loving watching you having Fun- I remember doing that when I was young, but we did it at the bread stores, it’s surprising what stores throw away.

That long pole is a grounding rod for a electrical box. It gets drove in the ground with only a few inches left above ground to attach a ground wire to it.

They used to copper-coat steel, Mike, in an attempt to make it rust-proof but, obviously it doesn't work too well if the copper layer is thin

I read down the first couple dozen or so comments, and noone commented on the copper clad rod. It is a grounding rod. Get's pounded into the ground and hooks up to either a panel box or copper water line via a # 8+ gauge wire. And that depends on your local code.

That first dumpster was likely from an analytical laboratory of some sort. Those devices were autotitrators from Metrohm which are very useful for determining concentrations of specific analytes via titration. Not cheap!!

HI MIke I love all your videos and I am contacting you to let you know I watched a video from scrapitall on removing copper from a motor. You must watch it as he shows how to use a mechete and I went out to Harbor Freight and purchased 1 for $6. . This is great and I did 6 good size motors in 15 min. Love it and pass it on.
