Have a coffee on me, 359s means steel frame A is all aluminum M means aluminum frame rails with steel crossed members or mixed. If that is a standard hood, it should measure 60 inches along hood would be 68 and the very short I'm not sure of I have a factory PETERBILT fibreglass hood and it looks a little bit different than that one. It also never had turn signals on the fenders. There are not even holes for them, I appreciate the detail about the air sweep on the radiator. I've always wondered what that was and couldn't find anything online weirdly my fibreglass hood had an all steel cab and there is another one in my area just like it I did not realize you could order one with an all steel cab. Also all the fibreglass hoods that I have seen have an aluminum flat built into the centre line of the hood to check your radiator cap and it should be polished not painted. I just found your channel and I really like your personality in the videos Cheers from Ontario.

He is correct on the sqhd 4:63 ratio with the RTO 9-15/125-15 Also an oddball standard hood that has been updated to a newer DI- A model. Has the little dog house in the cab and the odd steering column, the Cat ignition/preheater switch for a precup A model instead of a DI. 359 S designates a steel frame, not a short hood. I dig the Red Dot roof air too. Kind of a rare truck in how it was ordered. It's worth saving. That's also a logger spec Peterbilt tow pin on the front.

Mike, I think getting that 359 in the shape it is in, would not be a good idea. But, in the event that you do decide to tackle it, Bruce Wilson has one that he is contemplating getting rid of. Either by selling it or pushing it down the mountain at Whistlin' Diesel's place. ( Ugh! Please stop!) It has been hit in the front end, but it should be easier to be roadable/restored than the one you are looking at. It could be a source of parts for the one you are looking at, or vice versa. Either way, if you could strike a deal with him, and get that one so it won't end up trashed, that would be good.
@mikethetrucknut Жыл бұрын
That's why I was so passed when he was smashing it with a sledgehammer. I get it people can do what they please with their purchases but I like to see old trucks saved not wreaked for shock value views.
@jimmclaughlin9362 Жыл бұрын
I don't recall him smashing this one with a sledge hammer, but since he may be going to get rid of it in a bad way, you could step in and rescue it, and between the two, you should be able to restore one of them.@@mikethetrucknut
