@Alexander_Tronstad Жыл бұрын
@@FungWarb12 Haha, true, but you got to remember - Ken was in a weird spot then. MMA was really juuust springing out into the mainstream, and nobody knew about social media yet and so on - try reading your own facebook-posts from 07-08 when it broke out if you had it, and you'll see what I mean. Nobody comes out great in media without practice. Ken had allready had his prime in 93 to 96, and make no mistake: he was a brilliant grappler, and for the time a very well rounded fighter well ahead of the game. He outclassed opponents such as Bas Rutten, Funaki, Matt Hume etc.. coming back off a 4 year hiatus in 2000 after a stint in pro-wrestling, he was out of his prime allready at 36 years old, and he knew it, yet had learned he needed to play some sort of salesmanship-angle from the Pro-wrestling, and he had learned playing the heel sells. So.. stuff came out as it came out.. fighters weren't rich back then, there were almost no money in it, so he probably needed those fights really bad too, knowing he was on a sharp decline, he was used to being top dog, pride probably hurt... Too bad that part of his carreer got the most eyes through the tuf-era. He was a great fighter. Watch some of those old Pancrase fights, with their odd rules, and be amazed at a lot of brilliant martial arts.

I don't know why Ken gets a bad rep. He always seems like a very down-to-Earth man and very open with who he is in interviews. The UFC and WWE really need to honor Ken much more. It's a shame TNA has given him a spot in their Hall Of Fame yet he's gotten not Hall Of Fame honors in UFC or WWE as of yet. He pioneered MMA and when he was in WWF (now WWE) he was actually in big storylines with The Rock, Undertaker and others and got some big pops! Ken deserves so much more respect in the pro wrestling and fighting game.
