The problem is not weak characters, is how certain weak characters are written. Takemitchy is not one of the best. He is not the worst but he is not even written well I'd say

Then again, it's not just his character, its the whole story plot. I think there are major narrative flaws that remove suspension of disbelief which the writers don't even bother to justify.
