To clear up the name thing. his name is Takemichi (たけみち), but Mikey calls him Takemicchi (たけみっち). There's like a slight pause after saying mi and before saying chi. Adding っち to someone's name makes it cuter/shows you're on really friendly terms, but it's quite outdated. You'll still hear ギャル (Gyaru) girls say it in anime though. It's just stylized as takemitchy in English to show it's different/a nickname.

I think what mikey meant when he said takemichi is that he's calling him by his name as a friend. if he had said his full name it would've been normal for two people who have met for the first time. so he didn't say the name different or anything.

No he pronounced it differently. Instead of the way it's supposed to be pronounced he says it with a slight inflection. It's only really noticeable if you speak Japanese but it would be spelled differently

i know its not the main theme of the show, but tokyo revengers made me care more about takemichy and hina as a couple in only the first 12 episodes, than most romcom anime ever will.

You guys need to watch the uncensored version from now on because they cut out fight scenes just to cover up the manji sign which looks like the nazi sign. Its horrible editing by crunchyroll or whoever gave crunchyroll that copy. The uncensored version and censored version come out at the same time at gogoanime.com and other sites. I feel sorry for anyone who watches the censored version past ep 8..all you see is still shots of the moon and shrine LOL
