Loved all the videos of this from buying to ordering parts to repair to it being alive! It gives great views to printers that they dont need to spend 50-100,000 on a new fancy press. This is by far the smartest business plan mano. awesome job!!!

Thank you! I completely agree. We received 3 quotes on new presses and they were 35k, 47k, and 55k. That would have added another $800 to our overhead. We're a small shop and I think this has been a great way to get our foot in the door of automated screen printing without too much of a risk. Some of the best advice I had received from a shop owner was, "don't buy new, buy used". Going this route has saved us 20-45k. It'll take us about a year to pay this thing off vs 5-6.

I like the way the flash works on this specific press as you dont lose 2 heads because of the flash.
@mikeydesignssilkscreen4736 жыл бұрын
Me too. On an M&R style press in order to get 6 colors on a dark garment, you need a dedicated flash and cool down station. So you basically would need a 10 color press. I did a lot of research on these presses before making the purchase. Seems a lot of people dog on the v squeegee, but it works quite well and have gotten feedback from real owners stating how they've worked great for them. The only drawback I see is you eventually have to collect the ink after so many prints because it goes out to the side of the squeegee. The older M&Rs do that as well (the ones without the winged flood bars). Not a big deal. From what I've gathered is the chopper style of systems have been over hyped cause it's what people have been used to for years. More moving parts and things to go wrong.
@crumptees6 жыл бұрын
@@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 thats why it kinda annoys me when a company advertises a 6 color press and your really only getting a 5 or 4. You would think they would have built in stations for the flash already instead of stealing a head or 2.
@mikeydesignssilkscreen4736 жыл бұрын
@@crumptees I agree. Just build in a place / station for the flash and or cooling down. Guess they just want to sell those extra heads. You could do color prints on white, but how often are we print on white shirts?

@@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 i print all the time with our DTG printer on whites 😀easy money 👍
@mikeydesignssilkscreen4736 жыл бұрын
@@crumptees I can't tell you how many times we've sent work or outsourced to our DTG vendor here in town. We'll get those orders where they want a full color picture. We ask, how many... "one"... A lot of them are on color or dark shirts. Not many whites on our end.

Thanks! We are too! It's been quite nerve racking having this thing in bits laying all over the floor. Shannon was really anxious because she was in the mind frame of, "I won't feel sick to my stomach until I see this thing running"... because it was used and needed some TLC.

I picked up a javelin just like yours. All relays and actuators are working, however, I have no clue where the foot pedals are supposed to be plugged into. Would you happen to know?

God I hated this press. It was decent in our old shop but they moved us to a new place and couldn't fit it through the door so they cut a few arms off and re-welded them back on. They had some random guys do the job and unfortunately basically destroyed the press. You were lucky if any shirts were in registration. We had a tech from Javelin come in to take a look and he basically told there was nothing he could do. We just ended up using it for one color jobs...maybe 2 if the art had a big enough trap or if we had next to no work just to kill time. We only ever had one person running it so that was always fun.

How is your javelin so quiet? Mine is crazy loud lol It’s thuds when the table raises and lower and when it rotates it’s loud. Know anything it could be?
@mikeydesignssilkscreen4735 жыл бұрын
Mine is pretty loud as well. I have to where earplugs. It eats a lot of air and if we run it at it's fastest speed, the compress runs every few minutes. We have no leaks an ours after all the repairs.
