That old footage truly shows just how small our world has become due to the internet and advanced communications in general. Just think if Mikey and the team were working on this project in 1985 (I was 4 years old). He would be routing through books at the library and contacting people within the hobby and professional aviation community...praying that he 'might' find a few photographs of the plane. But today, in the year 2020, he gets actual personal footage of the plane AND gets to talk to the person who has a personal connection and story with that footage. It is truly remarkable.

That opening sequence--from the Yellowknife welcome sign through the taxiing chug of the C-46 gracefully swinging its tail around in the northern winter predawn--might be the envy of any fine filmmaker. Does my heart good to see the C-46's still flying. My Mom worked at Curtis Wright Aircraft in Louisvillie, Kentucky during WWII installing engine wiring harnesses on the C-46 Commando ! Love your Channel !

Mikey,, The footage of the Fox Moth was very impressive!! Hauling people around on vacation and all!! I never even heard of a Fox Moth before your dad dragged it into the shop!! Now I can’t get the thing otta my head!! That particular plane would be the ultimate Bush Plane for ( plane camping ) take the seats out slide a mattress in her belly and pack some along and go!! I always still find it amazing in life how for over probably 50 years or more, no one who is relevant to saving this plane has seen this lost footage, it just disappeared into the sands of time. It truly is amazing to know what hides away in basements and attics on old cameras. Just think of all the stuff about our own vintage cars or aircraft that may be hiding away. Mikey, I think its amazing your father and his legacy in Aviation. He knows his planes and his attachment to the planes and aviation is very obvious. Its something that gets into your blood. I have one Cessna and knowing the plane and its parts is something of an obsession. Occasionally I will airline from seattle, up over the Arctic and to Dubai for business. Well hope to have a watch and a chat on Crimbo day, my family lives on an island here in Scotland and there will be no ferries on Christmas day. I join my ship on the 26th so will have to be on the mainland to be able to travel and start work.
