I spent countless hours at the Y , I lived a half block away. Swimming, running, boxing, weight lifting. Handball basketball. It was 15.00 a YEAR. Haha. It was scandalous when the price jumped to 35.00. That was around 1970. We also had a rent controlled apt. Like 92.00 a month. That apt. Today is over 4k a month. Wonder what the Y costs now.? Great old neighborhood.
