Pretty funny but I highly doubt you would be unemployed if you had any medical education. Like right now all the hospitals and nursing homes are paying people 10,000 dollar sign ups for nurses and doctors even CNAs and EMTs get sign ups if they join the hospitals. Like that's how desperate hospitals are right now in colorado and I've heard it's the same on other states.

Im guessing she was an independent nurse. As an independent you can make like 4 or 5 times more than if you are employed by a hospital or care home. I would recommend anyone that is young and has no existing health problems to work independent. Just make sure you safe enough for unexpected difficulties, because the downside is you obviously don’t have things like sick pay or health insurance (unless you do it privately) or payed vacation days etc.

You watch too many TV dramas dramatizing nurses. In reality they're a bunch of lazy b*tches who would rather mess up patient samples all day or sit on their asses in their fancy scrubs getting googly eyes from all the other employees. This is of course in lieu of doing work. Oh but sure they occasionally save the life of a stroking out patient. Great job alerting the doctor Nurse Betty. Now go scroll your social feeds some more.

Come on…. We nurses work very hard & when I first started in the 1980’s, my paycheck was $750 the first 2 weeks. It slowly grew through the years … & so did my workload. I’ve seen births working in maternity & many deaths . It is humbling being a nurse. Many life lessons learned from patients, colleagues, & doctors. Lots of BS I had to put up with….. difficult patients & families, only a handful of titled doctors, staff drama… & management issues. But, I still enjoy my job🙏🏼. It’s all about humanity, care, compassion & passion. We nurses earn what we work for. I’ve been doing this profession for 44 years! I love it ❣️✊🏼🙏🏼🤗

In Canada it's highly dependent on type and experience (as someone mentioned). I would assume 50-60k is either an LPN or little/no experience RN. For LPNs (licensed practical nurse, only 2 years education) that's about right. For RNs (registered nurse, 4 years education) they start fresh at about 40k per year and can make upto 100k+ with experience. For specialties or NPs (nurse practitioners, 6/7 years education) they can easily make 100k+.

@Y G I mean it honestly is. Same set of skills ideally whether you are in emergency or general. Difference being we need to know the anatomy, procedures, and drug contraindications of multiple species instead of one and we can't really specialize as easily as a nurse. A nurse gets to just wedge into a niche. We are the rad tech, the phlebotomy tech, the surgery tech, etc. It happens but you also don't have a lot of human patients trying to chew you apart. You'd believe that the pay should be a bit closer too if you also had a mastiff tooth puncture your face on a simple exam lol. The major difference is just the fact that human medicine you are working with the patient. In vet med you are working with an owner that doesn't know what is wrong and a patient that can't tell you

After diligently supporting him we're both living good and let me tell you when I was pregnant with our kids he didn't let me lift a finger and he still cooks dinner a few times a week and is a tremendous father who I feel valued by all the time. We learn very little about Kevin as a person, his interests, hobbies, his role as a son, sibling(?), member of his community, etc. So, it makes it seem like she's just trying to flex that her boyfriend is a doctor. Being a medical fellow myself, I don't really care about prestige, but it just comes off as very disingenuous.

This salary depends on what kind of doctor you become. Is your field Radiology, Proctology, General Practitioner, and etc. The more rare the field of study, the more money you'll get. It also depends if you have your own private practice, if you work at a private hospital or a government hospital.

I've never understood this. When I had Covid and was in the ICU I was surrounded by amazing nurses who saved my life and brought me back from the brink of death. I saw my doctor maybe 3 times in the two weeks I was there. But those nurses I seen them every hour on the hour checking on me getting me everything I needed making me feel comfortable never making me feel embarrassed or ashamed of the situation. How come the nurses do all the work but the doctors get all the pay it makes no sense at all and it needs to change. Nurses Saved my life the doctors did just ordered stuff.
@timlee4059
@timlee4059 2 жыл бұрын
I think it is the fact of knowing in critical situations, when to order certain things and when things go wrong what to do. Don't get me wrong, a nurse is great at what they do and it is hard work but the doctor has likely had 8+ more years of training which comes along with that much more debt and hard work to get there. There's a saying that if you take 2 people age 20, 1 becomes a mailman and the other becomes a cardiologist, the cardiologist would have to be 50 years old by the time they break even. Like the saying, you only see 10% of the iceberg...

They do. It's tied to geographics and cost of living though. Major cities in California, 90k is not a lot of money. Wages can go up way higher than 90k.
