Hi, i really enjoyed this video. I have a question. I am in year 11 going to write my IGCSE's. I'm a business student studying Accounting, Business Studies, Economics, French, Extended Maths, English as a First language, Literature, Information and Communication Technology and literature. However, i would like yo pursue Medicine...i feel more passionate about it 😭. Os it possible...if yes, tell me how... I'm so lost 😭 HELP!

I don't know what IGCSEs are - my guess is you're probably in a different country's educational system. I wish I could help you more :( But I did want to say if you realize you want to do medicine, you are not too late!! You're only in grade 11 - lots of people don't decide until they're in university or after university or even as an working adult that they want to do medicine! I hope that you can make some course switches - maybe for your grade 12 year? so that you can make a career in medicine possible if that's what you want to do

love your video, people always said you need a sport for getting into UBC, is that true ?? Did you do any sport when you were in high school ? I am in my high school, planning to UBC, by the way which province are you in when you are in high school, I am in BC and reference your high school courses. Thank you so much

I really don't think it's required to have a sport to get in. I did do lots of sports in high school though including hockey, softball, track and field, swim team. I did high school in BC.

That there’s a long road of 15 years of studying ahead after high school. So it’s important not to stress too much while in high school. Once you’ve studied an adequate amount, use your free time to make quality memories with your friends and family. The important skill you can learn now is good time management where you get your work done on time, preferably early, and don’t spend too long or procrastinate

is calculus and physics a must in order to get into med school and become a family physician

I believe that calculus is a required course for most of the UBC science majors. If you didn’t major in science eg you did an arts major, I suppose that you could not take calculus. Physics isn’t required for UBC med school admission. However physics is tested on the MCAT so I would recommend taking it.

I personally did a Bachelors in Integrated Sciences but i have friends that did physiology, pharmacology, microbiology, kinesiology, biochemistry. No one degree is better than the others
