Saw this is in the paper towns trailer a few weeks ago and I'm obsessed. This guy is so talented. His entire album is total radio material. What an under appreciated artist!!! Then the other day I'm at Friday's and while my dad is busy talking to the waiter about endless apps this song came on. Almost shed a tear. I can't help thinking this is the beginning of something for him with being on the Paper Towns soundtrack and singing with Rihanna in "Stay". People are gonna start realizing who he is soon. Hope you get your big break Mikky you deserve it!!! Lately I've been angry that life seems to only get sadder with time, and I found this (kind of angry-sounding) song again and it clicked. It helps me embrace the fact that happiness is fleeting and not guaranteed, so we're lucky when we get those little moments of sunlight. And the only future is death, which is forever, but I think that's a kind of forgiveness because nothing that happens here really matters in the end. Accept that the worst is yet to come, and smile.

This was my mantra of 2014. Found this song right before my brother got diagnosed with leukemia, was obsessed with it by the time we were all moved to a different city for his treatment, whatever chaos was thrown at us, this song would echo in my head, it helped me through for some reason. It's not a song that says 'oh, everything is okay, everything will be okay' and tbh, everything will be okay, but this song says 'smile, it may get worse before it gets better, smile, muscle through', and that helps me. And thats what we did. My brother is in remission, he's alive, we saw other children not be so lucky, and it sucks. This song will always be linked to cancer, heart transplants, midnight games of spoons across a wide eating area, screaming refusals of going back to the hospital, roid rage, and all those we've lost, Melissa, Romeo, etc. I love this song with a heavy heart, tear-filled eyes, and a smile. I love it.

it's crazy how much this song reminds me of this one finnish book. it tells story of two boys in a dystopian world where everything is fucked up (like politics and nature and idk everything). the other boy leads a group of young people and the other is poorly treated orphan. ok so they meet and stuff happens. Some events later they find this special world where they can enter with some drugs and shit. none of their friends can follow them there. the new world they find is healthy and beautiful and they are both pretty amazed because they arent even seen the sun before that. they start explore this world because they want make their own a better place and they think that the new world can show them how to do it. + then they fall in love and things go wrong and stuff like that happens. but ye this song just describes so well the parts of the book where these two boys escapes somewhere only they can go and all that responsibility they have because of that. oh god.

I haven’t listened to this song in a year, and before that it was two or three. It’s changed as I’ve listened, and I have never listened to a song that has tugged heartache from me like this one. The last time, it was in remembrance of how easy things were before. Now, I’m going through a breakup. The second I began remembering lyrics, I started to tear up, and the line “Cause I don’t want to be lonely, I want to be loved, and I want you to hold me like I’m the only one” caused me to outright burst into tears, as I was cheated on by my ex. I hope that the next time I listen to this, it will have changed just as much, and I will become someone new again.
