From a technical standpoint the 518 has 2x100 + 16x25 is 6x100gb optical draw versus the 4x100gb of the 504. So on that alone it makes sense it uses more power. I really like the added versatility of this product too even able to accomodate 1gb SFP, where the 504 could only do the larger 10-25-40-100gb formats.

Perhaps can find a way to manufacture to get into distribution to maybe eat up sales from a few other known vendors…. Thank you. PS: I’m hopeful for new & more 2.5Gb switches for SMB and home labs, that i between 10Gbe jump. Patiently waiting for new capsman release that supports wave2 along with wifi6 products

@@mikrotik oh yeah. It is very cool to see 90% cpu loading and lags while watching on traffic on 300 vlan interfaces on winbox. By the way, dhcp-snooping works on switch-chip or on CPU? What will happen if 1000 hosts will renew IP at the same time? And about flash: RouterOS is not so stable, so it will be cool to make 2 partitions on flash for dualboot, but with 16MB flash it is not available feature. But it is not necessary, yes...
