Please update your docs. Devs like me still have to scour through the internet to find how to correctly format for example the date. Good docs can be very well incorporated into the Gemini 1.5 1 million token context window, but your docs, even though huge, still have very many shortfalls.

Most likely you can use Netwatch as a trigger, but if you want a realtime layer2 trigger, you could create a script that runs a 'while true' loop and parse the interface data on each step.

instead of showing an example script of multiplying numbers can you show a real world script of internet failover between 2 connections that do not have static addresses please, this is a huge omission from ROS7, i've tried several scripts posted on the internet but nothing works consistently

There are too many different failure and failover scenarios for there to be a single solution. At the most basic in your case, you let your WAN interfaces get their IP information and set their default routes, then you make a routing rule to push traffic out the interface you want to be primary and use gateway checking to let the router determine if they are viable and deactivate them as necessary. Good luck, failover is not an easy nut to crack and different failure modes with different carriers behave differently.

IIRC... ":" is for a function, such as ":put" or ":foreach" "/" is for root of command structure. " /system", "/wifi" etc. Is possibly explained better somewhere on the manual.

So for your example, ":log" is not valid... I believe.

'/log' is a CLI command that can be called from a script, but ':log' is a separate scripting command that simply has a shorter syntax. help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/Scripting#Scripting-Commands

Doesn't work well for some sites with Akamai security. Notice internet slows down considerably when PCC is turned on. There is some step missing. normal browsing for text based sites works. Video fails miserably.

long time ago there were Intel NICs that supported 14k jumbo frames but I've never seen any other hardware that supports those so they were quite useless at the end of the day inb4 are jumbo frames fixed on CCR2004-pcie already? Not so long ago they only worked on factory ROS image and stopped working after update :<

I have to admit I thinks this makes things more confusing I have CCr2004 pcie card running router os 7.8 but I still only get the old menu. Is that because it does not have wifi interfaces itself? I would still like to use it for central management

i got it from your mikotik help page : " PCC is not a valid method, in case of Hotspot(captive portal) - due to the fact that Hotspot uses web-proxy and it uses only the default routing table, at the moment. This device is for long range LTE in rural areas, in those conditions your speed will not be higher than 100Mbit. If you are close to a cell tower or in a city, you need a Chateau device instead
