Great and thoroughly explnation of how ARP works! ARP is a protocol that just because it work, is overlooked by many.

Nice intro to ARP, example how to limit the number of MAC addresses on a given port will be great.

Port security... can only be done via switch rules. CRS1/2x have lock mac on first, CRS3 and the rest do not.

Hi Druvis, thank´s a lot, great video! 😀👍 Maybe a Part 2 with more deeper tips? (e.g. Bridge-Filter and how to use them...)

Next up, the other 3 ARP modes. Bridge and switch filters are perhaps for some other future video.

Awaiting for next part of video. How to protect my network from spoofing.

What MikroTik is missing for ARP protection is Dynamic ARP Inspection (DAI).

I wonder if maybe ARP table is my issue when MikroTik router is restarted (electricity cut off) after which I want to use Wake-Up-Lan to turn on PC because then this function doesn't work unless I manually turn on my PC and then shut down so like at that moment Mikrotik router's ARP table is updated and then I can start using WoL magic packets which turn on my PC. Should I add like static ARP table?

Proxy arp is by default on routers? That doesn't sound right at all. RouterOS, its enabled by default. I'd like to know what you meant by that.
@mikrotik Жыл бұрын
No, no, it is always arp=enabled by default. You will need to wait for the details in the next video. :)

@mikrotik, whrere is the long awaited EIN (NAT) video? Nobody kows exactly what EIN does compared to the regular NAT...
@mikrotik Жыл бұрын
Tough topic that would also be difficult to demonstrate in action. But it is well documented in rfc5128.
@Problembaer4 Жыл бұрын
@@mikrotik see it as Challenge, I think the most people dont understand it (even after reading the RFC), completely. At least a video about pro and cons would be appreciated. In ROS v7.12 this is added: *) firewall - added "ein-snat" and "ein-dnat" connection NAT state matchers for filter and mangle rules; This topic is quite complex, a video-demo could help.
