I love your videos. Some of the best Amateur radio content out there. You sir are truly helping to advance the craft of radio.

Matched great and less noise on that loop as well. Getting it elevated to that height is also a bonus. Well done!

Noticeably stronger 10m signals on the rectangle. Well done

Wow, that's pretty good going and so close to the model! I've used the same program and although it's been good, it wasn't as accurate as it is here. A really nice antenna and I'm envious of your tall trees! My trees are 35-40ft but still worth a shot. I was interested to learn that a rectangle brings the SWR down. Thanks for the video Mike! 👍😃

I really hate to speak of things so controversial as antennas BUT :) I once built a set of bi-square antennas for 10 meters Both on a single mast I am sure a bi-square has a bit more going for it than a 1/2 wave dipole I fed mine with 450 ohm line Well enough controversy for me I need to sign off :) TNX fer the great content You one of the very best in this genre 72

Nice video! It supports the videos by Peter VK3YE about oblong antennas. I've recently built them for 6 and 2m with similar success on a 12m tall Spider Pole portable setup. It seems like your approach is quite scalable for higher frequencies!

Seems like the SIRIO STARDUSTER M400 will work on 28Mhz as it is designed to operate from 26.6-30Mhz but us tunable.

Basically it would be nice to know if there are roof lines or other places you could sprout an antenna (without erecting a moon-raker)

Great antenna choice for performance and simplicity. If you're restricted in height a quad will still give good results where other antennas will not..

Whatever modeling package that the DXCOMMANDER is using must be the right package.

Would you mind sharing the dimensions? I see it is center fed at the bottom. Thanks!

They are ¼ wl on a side for a full wave antenna, for a square loop. Ron W4BIN

@@W4BIN For a better match though is there a ratio of one side to another for the rectangle? What did your top wire end up being in length?
@MIKROWAVE12 жыл бұрын
7.20 shows the dimensions in m and I convert to feet in the audio.
@W4TRI_Ronny2 жыл бұрын
@@MIKROWAVE1 I watched again. It was a bit earlier than that but I see it now. Thanks! I'm going to run the top and bottom through PVC and secure it so it stays in shape and can be hauled up like a kite. Now that I have the ratio I can convert to any band for a starting place.

Your vswr is out of calibration on forward power. Measurement of the antenna's VSWR should prove to be lower than what you measured once calibrated. Timestamp 9:29 clearly shows power forward meter is generously showing output power of a couple watts with no power applied. The reflected power meter seems to be reading Zero as they both should. What you later claimed as 1.5 VSWR was probably really a couple of divisions lower... Where is the diddle driver in the desk drawer it's always hiding... 😂

Nice result.....but no trees more than 5 feet tall here... Again you showed that a loop is a good choice (I also lov to watch w1vlf's channel, he is also great). Thanks.

You have a perfectly good tree and could have taken a leaf out of W5JGV's book and got the tree resonant on 28Mhz

@@MIKROWAVE1 That's great. How many bands can you stack? Do they have to be harmonically ..er.. related (Can't think of the right word.) 20-17-15-12-10m?
