o o It can be bought for private use. About housing it: it's length is: 40.025m/131ft 3.3/4in It's rotor diameter is 32m/105ft. So, if you got place where to put it, and somewhere around 20-25 mil$ you can easily have one.

Russia, with a population 1/2 that of the US, graduates almost twice the number of engineers we do. In addition, Russian engineering studies are very rigorous. I would put a typical Russian undergraduate degree up against a typical Masters degree in the US. I say this as someone who graduated from a top 10 engineering program in the US.

WarPeace, you are 100% wrong. Those are the statistics for 2015. Russian Federation = 454,000 graduates. US 237,000 graduates. Iran 233,000 graduates. Japan 168,000 graduates. There are no stats on China...but best estimates are that 30% of their undergrad degrees are in engineering! They have a stated goal to have 200,000,000 degreed engineers by 2030. As for the quality of Engineering graduates in Russia, I could not judge current standards as my experience with Russian Engineers involves older graduates from a previous era, who emigrated.

The unimaginable pressure of wind on this thing....
@r5t6y12
@r5t6y12 9 жыл бұрын
Yeah, could you imagine how effective this aircraft would be putting out wildfires and volcanic eruptions? THAT much wind moving straight down and then pushing out away from the aircraft itself? I wonder how many gallons of water could be saved and how many structures could be saved if a few of these were brought in to hover anywhere that a wildfire is too out of control for people to fight?
@r5t6y12
@r5t6y12 9 жыл бұрын
For example............watch the video by Dave Frey............... "Firefighting With Helicopters" @ 4:06 you can see a few men standing on the top of a hill where a helicopter is just about to drop some water. Instead of having the men standing there just have the helicopter hover over that spot for a few minutes. Easy Peasy..................(8^) @ 4:56 you see a tanker plane running across the advance line on a field fire with some orange suppressant. Instead of putting down the chemical that will put out the fire (but also kill that good grass, just have a few helicopters over over that line for a few minutes blowing all of the flame heat and smoldering embers back over what has already burned. You simply call in helicopters when there is a definitive straight line "scorch area" and have the birds hover over that stuff which has not burned yet. This way they're just blowing all of the heat and flame and smoldering embers back over what has already been burned. If there are structures that are in danger of being lost just have a helicopter hover over the structure for a few minutes blowing all of the heat and flame and embers away from the structure in whatever direction the "lay of the land" requires. Since the structure will most likely have an angled roof the wind can be pushed down and away from the structure in all directions guaranteeing that the roof shingles don't blow away while also guaranteeing that anyone that may be stuck in the structure is totally safe from the flames.

Not necessarily. With the collective (the stick on the left side of the seat that controls the angle of attack of the blades) all the way down at least some helicopters (or all - I don't know) rotors blow in the other direction - that is up. It is for example used in autorotation landing where you convert your vertical speed (while descending) into rotor RPMs. ;)

It's really big. Can we buy this as a private helicopter? And will it fit on a normal average helipad?
