Many errors: Mi-26 was NOT designed to carry missiles. Mil V-12 was designed for this role. Mi-26 was NOT designed to be attack helicopter. It's absolute BS. Mi-26 was NOT designed as military-only helicopter from the start.

Who said that you can't arm it with whoever you want! They are modular and big enough to carry anything! You could screw in a 155mm cannon on the side door,or a 20mm Gatlin, or Air to ground missiles, or a 40 rocket pod! But there's other purpose for it I agree, armament isn't its primary purpose!

@@HoustonTexas-m4r That’s why in 2023 Russian economy grew and according to World Bank became 5th in world and 1st in Europe. Russia launched production inside of country (for example production of electronics in 2023 - +20%, metalworking CNC - +28% or 9200 in absolute numbers, it means enough of CNC for hundreds of factories like this one on video), while Western companies lost one of the largest in world market (and will lost more, when Russia propose own CNC and rest goods to 3rd countries), that’s why they already demonstrated fall of economy (like Germany) or stagnation 😂 P.S. You might have already noticed the outdated heavy analogue (non-glass) cockpit controls, as well as a navigator and flight engineer. All unnecessary extra weight, right? Well, Russian and earlier Soviet combat experience, has shown that analogue controls are less susceptible to electronic interference and jamming, especially for low flying aircraft in an EW-rich environment.

What the West should understand is that Russia can make helicopters for a quarter of the cost of those in the West. They may not have the electronics and computers that Airbus and US makers offer, but they can do the job better and cheaper. The day of the attack heli may now be over, but the MI-8 platform can be used for everything from heavy lift, transporting 30 combat soldiers and also have a tough and armoured gunship platform in the MI-24/28. They just swap out modules to suit. Anyone who has been attacked by a Hind understands its effectiveness. They are cheap to build, can be serviced in the field by semiskilled technicians and parts are cheap and plentiful. They can also be flown by an NCO with only a months training. The US had a winner in the Super Stallion, but tried to make it too complicated with nice to have features that make it horrendously expensive to operate. 20 hours maintenance for every one hour of flight. OMG! It was every bit as good as the MI-8 and the US missed a chance there by going with the Osprey which is a failure.

Well, it’s not clear why we all need to go to the front, when even a limited contingent of the Russian Armed Forces is so successfully reducing the number of opponents. The area of cattle burial grounds is growing at an incredible rate in the failed proxy state, and not even all of them have been collected from the fields, where they are eaten by wild boars and dogs. Can you imagine how much of a legacy Ukraine inherited from us after the collapse of the USSR? These are tens of thousands of units of military equipment, these are 300 launchers S300! How much equipment and manpower were supplied from abroad? And where is all this? You, like the Third Reich in 1944, have already lost, although the end of the war was not soon. So are you. @@bartekmachaj Russia is largest in world country and have largest population among Europeans (and one of the largest in world), also it is country which for last 800 years each century defeat Europe, as individual Empires (almost each one, from Sweden to British) and also all of them together when they united. Because it is incredible successful and best in battles, could wipe out whole Europe already for several times. So, who is never learn from their history? :) Nowadays it already over year not send new soldiers to battlefield, it means have no loses, while use much less people. Another side just in January discussed about needs of new batch from 500 thousands 😂 Also, Zaluzhnyi (the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces) at same time gave interview where said that NATO text books are useless and army forced to return back to old Soviet text books which are far better 😂

Probably not very useful. A factory will not let the price go up without a good reason. Mi-26 does its job well as it is. You give it a glass cockpit, what changes? Looks more modern, price goes up. The primary market of the Mi-26 is Russia itself. If you order a modification of Mi-26 with a glass cockpit I'm sure they can do it for you if your order is big enough.
