@@Nah-ah No she didn’t(she’s Ukrainian). And Portman did about 90% of everything herself. That’s sad you bring it up. You wouldn’t if you understood where Mila comes from and where the directors family is from. Hes classically trained in Ballet and his paternal grandparents are from Ukraine. Soviet Union and ballet were literally synonymous. The standards there do not compare by any means. Unless you cry, class isn’t finished.

Maria Riccetto ( American Ballet Theatre soloist) was Mila Kunis’ dance double, she was used for distance and difficult footwork shots. Mila Kunis was shown when her upper body and face was visible in shot. It’s a shame she didn’t mention this.
@miss0petersburg
@miss0petersburg Жыл бұрын
@@meganhuggins7494 “Mila Kunis was showing when her upper body and face was visible”- false. Just like Her costar, she did most of the work, plus, she wasn’t the lead. Body doubles are part of most action, art, athletic films. Ballet takes years and years of work, like one has to be almost born to be one, you can’t train in bone structure, the same with true performance, most aren’t natural at it. I don’t see you going after Tom Cruz or anybody else who use doubles. What’s a shame is that you’re trying to hate on her before you go after those who’s footsteps she’s following in. Interesting

She had body doubles who did 90% of the dancing. The level they danced at takes 15+ years to achieve. 280 hrs is not even 4% of the way to the dancing you see in the movie. They did get training, but it is very obvious as a ballet dancer, they're not very good dancers (as in seeing the close ups of like the head to waist, all body shots were basically professionals). The fact they taking credit for all the dancing is defeating the whole purpose of the movie in the first place, and has added to ballet being ridiculed and underappreciated, bc now people think actors can dance like that within 280 hrs. When as a ballet dancer, in that amount of time, you can probably only learn the really basic things that I learnt at like 6.

I was a parent helper on one of my son's school trips (a week long). One of the activities was a tour through a theatre which was the HQ of our National Ballet Company. So, we got an insight into the lives of professional Ballet performers .... WOW. As someone who was brought up playing Rugby, Rugby League, other contact sports and a history of the injuries associated with it .... I was blown away on how physically fit, strong and how much pain your average ballet performer goes through. It's mind blowing. There lives are either practicing for the next project, recovering from injuries or staying fit in their spare time ie. gym, crossfit, weights, cardio, etc. They rival a lot of sportsmen for physical strength, mental toughness and pain threshold. When players on a field or court get injured, they get taken off. When ballet performers get injured ... they continue the performance with a smile on their face ... then go to the hospital after. So, I can understand what she's on about.

you really described what life was like for me as a young ballet dancer. even if i wasn't dancing professionally, it was all way too serious. when i was 12 i was rehearsing for the end of year spectacle and while running backstage to get changed for the next act i stepped on a 12 cm thick rusty nail. only a couple of centimeters penetrated, the mom of a friend was a doctor and removed it from and i performed on stage that same night for a 4 hours long spectacle en pointe.

While performing with American Ballet Theater, my daughter’s left shoulder came out of joint just before stepping onstage. She danced across stage the best she could and passed out from the pain as she stepped off as discreetly as possible. She woke up with Kevin McKenzie and Misti Copeland standing over her, both asking if she was okay. “Please don’t send me home! I can still dance.” “You stay there. There’s an ambulance on its way.” Surgery and physical therapy helped her get back quickly. My daughter is as tough as any pro-footballer.

His family asked Mila and Ashton both if they'd read one in court and they did. They both have basically been cancelled ever since. My two cousins were doing ballet for early ages one gave it up early the other gave it up after she had back problems in her late 20’s it’s not easy to do and hard to start when you did just to learn it for the movie but you did great so don’t be ashamed of what you accomplished 👏👏👏🌹👍👍👍😉🥂

Such an incredible, beautiful person. That's dedication. It's amazing how much work goes into a movie for a few scenes. It could be a movie getting ready for a movie if it was real. Fascinating

She also starved herself because they were saying she wasn't thin enough to play the role unless she stuck to a very strict diet while filming. Imagine thinking Mila Kunis isn't thin enough, she's always absolutely flawless

As a young girl, I took ballet for 5 yrs. then was old to graduate to Pointe......I lasted 6 months. I think Mila did an AMAZING job in Black Swan. I appreciate the hard work she did to make it look like she's done it her whole life. Respect!
