Shark looks good from the price point, but I love the sleekness and ease of use in Dyson and it really makes the hair feel much healthier in the long term. I find it holds the style for days on my hair and my hair grew a lot faster and looks healthier. THE FOLLOWING IS MY OPINION: A person can go to any outlet store and buy a box or container to put an appliance and its attachments in that goes with their decor and NOT pay extra dollars for something they probably won’t even like. Everybody’s hair is different, there is to many reasonable priced appliances on the market and styling accessories for hair type to use to condition the hair, HEAT IS HEAT, COUNTING 1 to 10 seconds is easy. Most heating instruments let’s the user choose the heating degrees to be used. Charging or paying $700.00 for an appliance for hair is R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S. One person thinks a product is perfect, another person thinks that same product is not worth their time.

Having difficulty choosing which to purchase. My hair does not allow curl to stay...Although,I have thin hair i do have a good amount of hair. I wish to not damage my hair with so many products. It seems you are gentle with your hair as well

Being a licensed professional, I don't know. I think the average person could get some really good use out of either, but knowing how to use a blow dryer and a round brush, and the lasting power of an iron, its so hard to make that leap. I would be more willing to try the Shark over the Dyson, but gosh I don't know...maybe one day. It's so hard for us stylists to stray from our holy grail tools!

How long does it take to do your whole head? What is the cord length on both and were there any issues with twisting or binding?

Awesome review!! Needed this to make sure I bought the right one for my wife and the shark sounded much better especially for the heat settings. She does have thicker hair and you mentioning that extra heat is better for that, IM SOLD! Again, Awesome review!! Happy holidays! ❤️

The Uk launch it comes with a really nice case that is better than the Dyson case imo because it has a handle and zips open in the middle to give two sides.

I know that Dyson is expensive but I appreciate brands that disrupt the market, after Dyson released their hair tools all other brands are rushing to make a copy. Obv it's a bit too high depending on how much you value hair but I enjoy mine - mostly for the noise factor.
@lunaaa8225 Жыл бұрын
exactly. If it just copies a bit then it's definitely fine, but shark is copying the product to the bone. Apparently ppl aren't fine with chinese companies duplicating products but it's all rainbows when shark does.

Even during the video I felt like the Shark side was loosening up faster.. I know the curls were tighter on the Dyson to start with, but it didn't budge at all, whereas Shark side was almost down to very loose waves towards the end there.

Its because of barel diameter I think.

Go and buy your Dyson... If you in love with shit...

For that price, I’d think the curls/waves would at least last a full day. Maybe it’s the climate where you live 🤷🏻♀️ I’ll stick with my devacurl hairdryer and my conair 1 1/4 inch barrel curler. Before curling I spray with the Eva NYC 10 in 1 and my waves last a solid 3-4 days and start to loosen the last few.

She said at the end that she didn’t use anything to help keep the curls, that’s why they fell throughout the day

I was thinking of changing my curler but after I watch your video, I think I am going to stick with mine....it's babylist. The curls can last days on my straight and coarse hair type, and it cost me much less than these two 😊 Thanks for the review.

Would love to have the Dyson, but can't justify $700 for a hairdryer. Shark will definitely win, but will wait for updates.

Just bought Shark after I sold my Airwrap - and will return it and buy another AW 😂 Shark grabs the hair better but here in Germany, we just got the wide barrel which doesn’t work for me. With the 20mm AW, I don’t need hairspray and the curls last all day. With Shark the curls fall out immediately without even touching. The Shark round brush is ridiculous! How long your hair has to be to use this massive thing..? And yes, the Shark isn’t ergonomic at all.

Love this video. Especially since I’m frying to decide myself which one to get. The real question is: which one do you prefer? Not that that would sway me one way but I’m curious. (Honestly, I couldn’t afford the Dyson, nor would I want to pay that much for anything!) I think I’ll wait for the next Shark. Bet it’s gonna be amazing!

Definitely Dyson: I am absolutely in love with this product! I was initially skeptical about whether it would work on my dry, thick hair the way I wanted it to, but it has truly worked like a miracle. Now, my hair looks like it's been done at a hair salon! It's definitely worth the money.

Thanks for such an in depth review. I won't buy Dyson products after James Dyson's treatment of the UK during Brexit so have been eagerly awaiting a decent dupe to the airwrap ever since it came out. The Shark sounds like a good alternative but I might wait for the upgraded version in the future after watching your review as it sounds like there are still improvements to be made.

I think I would get really frustrated with the Dyson not grabbing my hair. For the cost that thing should work perfectly! Edit: After watching the video the Shark side looks better imo.

I tried both of the hair dryers and honestly both lacked the precision and left my hair absolutely frizzy. The standard blow dryers gave me a better blow dry without having to use products which makes my already oily hair worse. I didn't even end up trying the Dyson curling wand but now you're making me reconsider...lol 🤣 Does Dyson have an option for thick wavy hair? There are many reviews from users saying the curls did not last long. Have you checked how long they last? Thank you 🥰

I tried the 1.2 in curling barrel on my wavy hair and feel like the Dyson doesn't grip my hair very well for the pricepoint and the smoothing brushes don't straighten or smooth my hair at all.

I wonder if your hair is a little wetter on the shark side it it would work better since it is hotter. Honestly I have never bought any shark products. I have bought Dyson but after years discover that it was not worth the price at the start. Since dyson has two types now, I will probably get the shark and give it a go. My hair is for sure not as long as yours but I do have more wavy natural hair. Thanks for the test. Hopefully someone with shorter hair will do a test.

My DIL had a Dyson vacuum cleaner and I bought a Shark. Her Dyson died and she bought a Shark. Both of our Shark vacuums are working great. I’m not sure if it will be the same for The Airwrap stylers but, I want to find out. I’m going to look up the warranty on both as well.
