Worst Rated Makeup | Ulta
Whenever I purchase something online, I always make sure to scroll down and read as many reviews as possible: the good, the bad, the ugly. This especially goes towards makeup and any beauty product I want to buy. I want to understand what other consumers enjoyed or didn’t enjoy about that particular makeup item. Today, I’m testing and trying out worst rated makeup from Ulta and really dive deep into why each makeup product received lower reviews than other beauty products.

most brands are trying to shift to vegan and clean (because that's what consumers want) and don't reformulate properly. milani had great eyeshadows and then cut out mica and now they are so powdery and don't last 🤷🏻‍♀️

The eyeshadow looks like a color you would find in a child’s play makeup, and the eyeliner looks cakey. Thank you for trying these products so we don’t have to.

Revolution has many sub-brands, including Revolution Pro. So really the same company. I feel like as a brand it is hit and miss.

I was a bit confused when she said that too but tbh the many faces of the Revolution brand is also really confusing 😂 I tend to find that they are hit and miss too but when they do hit their products are fantastic and with the cheap prices they are phenomenal. I think the sub-brands are a signifyer of the quality in a way - for example the 'I ❤️ Revolution' one tends to be the cheaper, more kitsch and novelty products, but again they are hit and miss too. I think that because of the prices being so low it's always worth a try with their products because you've not lost a ton of money if it turns out to be crap. Even with the "crap" products there are usually ways to work with them to get what you want from them - for example, one of the palettes I got from them (I forget what it was called but it's one of the big square pan palettes and has a lot of blues and silvers in it) isn't hugely pigmented and can be a bit stubborn to work with so I actually use it with some Mehron mixing fluid and turn them into liquid shadows/eyeliners instead so I can still get that punch of pigment from it, it just takes a different method. So far none of the products I have tried have been so bad there's not been a workaround that enables me to use them - so I would always recommend trying them out and maybe getting a little creative if you come across a problem. 😊

Yes! The It Cosmetics Universal Brow Pencil is my absolute favorite. It really is a true neutral shade that applies as light or dark as you need...depending on the amount of pressure used.

I love her. She’s so upfront & real about the makeup she wears. And if she doesn’t like it, she won’t recommend it or acknowledge it - other than the review she is giving. She’s so wholesome & I personally have purchased many products based solely on her reviews & I haven’t had one yet that has disappointed me! I think the lip liner was the wrong colour match for the lipstick 💄, you couldn’t really notice the real colour of the lipstick because of the liner being so dark. But the purple eyeshadow looked pretty on your eyes but I think there’s better out there.

I like the color of the browse on you. You have so many tones in your hair that I feel like it works for you. Especially once you put the brow gel in it just kind of gave it a little bit more dimension. But I understand when it comes to brow products, my go to is the fenty Brow pencil. It is by far after working at Ulta for about five years and trying probably almost every brow product that one seems to be my favorite now.

I have to say the essence lipstick is by far one of my favorite lipsticks I’ve ever had a super buttery extremely flattering mauve color would look great on anyone and you can’t beat the price

It’s crazy everyone hates the tart foundation but me and my ant both sware by that lol it works amazing as a under eye concealer for me and it’s literally water proof so I love it 😍

Milana, you have a light touch when applying makeup and you can make anything work! That eyeliner, for example, would have been a disaster in my hands.😬 The makeup actually looked good, even the foundation, although you don't like it. Not sure why you didn't like the brows, I think they looked great and they didn't budge or smear. I've never tried the Ulta single bronzer, but I do have the trio (bronzer, blush, highlighter) in the round compact, and it's fantastic. They're pigmented and easy to blend. I don't look like a clown after application. Actually, it gives me a nice glow! I haven't watched your previous video on your new studio and equipment yet, but I do notice a difference. In your previous videos, your makeup almost always pulled orange, even your lips, even though you were wearing lip balm. Most lipsticks and lip gloss had an orange cast. In this video, your lips before adding lipstick looked natural!! Congrats on the new setup.

I personally love using the Amazonian clay foundation as a concealer w/ no other makeup and it works beautifully in small doses, but it just doesn’t work as a foundation 😂

Steer clear of the ultra brand eyebrow gel! It makes your brow hair disgustingly stiff, like straw, and it leaves residue once it dries, making your brow hair look white if your brows are darker. For a cheaper dupe at the ultra store, I recommend the essence brow and lash mascara clear gel. It keeps hair in place while still leaving no residue and no crunchy feeling hair 🤢 definitely one of the worst products I’ve ever tried.

If you have 5 Below, try Beauty Treats pallettes for shadows. I tried Neon so far many months ago. You get 25 colors for $5 but I loved it. With Christmas money from my bf, I got two of their other pallettes. Metallic, and I forgot the other one. Not Romance, I remember for sure, as not really into neutrals. I only use a certain brown for my brows. I eyeline with neon green.
