Milan Art Institute Mastery Program (Pt 1 Section 1) Old Masters Floral Oil Painting. Video 5.

Here's an update into how I'm doing inside the Milan Art Mastery Course. This month I’ve been busy finishing an oil painting commission. It’s a large floral painting, in the style of the old masters. I absolutely loved the process of underpainting, and then painting the transparent layer. However, I found the opaque layer to be the most difficult part of the process. Like, really difficult!

Haha love your intro! I’ve just started week 3 and I loved the first 2 oil lessons and would happily do more and I’m just waiting on a parcel of new paints to arrive 😊 Well done on the painting, I’m sure your mum loved it.

Beautiful work. I'm really interested in joining Milan. I just started another year long course with another art company. I don't think it's fair to say which one, here, but I think people will guess. It's a foundation course, a classical course which I feel will give me the confidence (I feel I need) at the end of the year to sign up with Milan. Did you decide to pay extra for a mentor? I'm wondering if I should, or if I should just purchase the basic course :)

I love the idea of a Classical Foundation Course :-). No I can't afford the mentor so I went without, but you can always post your paintings and ask for critiques at any time, so I haven't really missed the mentorship. Do let me know how you get on and if you decide to sign up :-)
