The reason why they have changed is #1 They stopped drinking #2 they're guitars are now cleaner and don't have enough gain!!! Get that GAIN BACK!!!!!.........#3 They stopped being rebels like they used to....#4 They are older but I respect that. No one can stay young forever. Metallica still kicks ass and they have influenced many fans with real music...Thank you Metallica!!!!!!!
@Albee213
@Albee213 9 жыл бұрын
What happen was, the got rich, lost their anger, lazy, wanted to make a change due to playing thrash for so long and got heavily influenced by Bob Cock. Why they kept releasing crap album after crap album because the fans keep buying them and keep going to their shows hoping to someday see Metallica kick serious ass like they used too. When Metallica was doing thrash back in the day they were the best, WERE. But now they are just tired sad over paid band that has a following that does not care what they release or how awful it is. Just my opinion from Black Album until now is really just a pile of garbage with a few songs here and there that are worth listening too. But pop radio songs like Enter Sandman… rubbish. Ain’t my Bitch and 2x4?, sounds like some joke band wrote those songs, not the Kings of Thrash Metal.

Albee213 +1000. You summed it up exactly. In their defense it isn't fair to expect 50 year old millionaires to sound like angry 20 year olds forever. But they haven't progressed musically one bit since "...And Justice". Sometime around the Black Album James started taking singing lessons and bought a book of nursery rhymes and the band hasn't been the same since.

Could be a lot of reasons for that. Some times it’s to pack in more tunes - Metallica songs tend to repeat a lot of parts that they can easily trim fat from.

Depends on what you’re playing. When I’m covering the rhythm guitar of Metallica songs, downpicking and all, it’s actually very doable. Also notice how he’s mostly hunched over his guitar. This shortens the distance considerably. Now, if you’re doing “lead guitar stuff” like tapping and sweeping it’s physically impossible to have the guitar that low.
