So how do we put the hole in the door bottom for installing the tracks?

Is this available in south Africa

Very nice, exactly what I am looking for since I don’t have enough ceiling height. Can it support heavy doors like 80kg?

Not a chance.

80kg is the max it's rated for. I'd avoid doing anything at max rating. But it might be ok.

junk product for the price tag. took three days of work - 1 to mill it, 1 to install, 1 to try and adjust it. door will always stay at least 4 3/4" open, hinge hardware and components are very cheaply manufactured, doubtful longevity. and if you go with this system make sure your door has no design like a window or panels.

Thanks. This was helpful. I guess I'll stick to the traditional barn door track system.

Why did the door stay open? And why would window panels affect it? Thanks is advance
@djtygre Жыл бұрын
@@Rick45516 because of the design of the hidden roller it is not possible to fully open the door. The door will always be at least a four inches and a half out into the doorway when fully opened. You can review the instructions if you don't believe me. The only way around this is to have a door which is an odd size, this eliminates any kind of door which might have glass panels or wood panels because they are almost always aligned centered. In all the manufacturer photos you will always see a door which is a solid flat panel (no panels or windows in the door). Likely they are also cored doors and not solid wood. I can tell you I worked with a very competent wood worker and this product is for a very specific type of installation like a large entry way where the open state does not matter if you see 4.5 inches if door sticking out.. it may or may not work for you. For a narrow or standard size door entry seeing that much door is a problem. It wasted a ton of my time and the manufacturer was less than helpful.

@atagger1 Thanks for your review. It looks like in order to have a door not show from the "backside" you need a wide enough door that the mounting bracket positions allow it to slide all the way to the side of the opening. How has it held up for you?
@djtygre Жыл бұрын
@@bl4536 i ended up going with barn door sliding solution. the bottom of the door is milled out and also has rollers from the previous install with this hinge. with the milcasa magic hinge you will never have the door in a fully open state because of how it is designed. there will always be some portion of the door in the entry way. that is how this product is designed. you can review the instructions they provide if you don't believe me.
