We can't be all that horrible, cuz folks like Lee, like all the people adopting animals, young and old, who are making a difference every day. We can show kindness to someone we don't know today, support a pal whose adopted a pet by volunteering to bff- sit while they take weekend a trip. We can do better so easily by choosing to. We took in a medium poodle named Bean. He was left in his apt for weeks without food as the owner was a drug addict. Finally it was reported there was a dog in the apt and was saved. He was inches from death. We took care of him and he’s been with us now 4 years and is completely loved 24/7.

YES! I said this when you first posted Millie's rescue; that I am experiencing a lot of complications with my disease (lupus) and that Millie inspired me to keep going. I remember crying on the day you rescued Mildred, Lee. She was in such a bad way, had endured so much, I thought that maybe her body would just give up... except she's still here, and *thriving*!!! Mildred looks exactly like the female dog I grew up with and loved so much, which is why it hurt me to my core when I first layed eyes on her. Sometimes I forget how your rescues look when they come to you since the changes are gradual. Seeing Mildred so skinny and then seeing her so lovely and healthy brings tears to my eyes- tears of sadness at how she was neglected so badly but then tears of joy and gratitude for what she and you have accomplished this past year. She reminds me of our rescued mastiff Dami, he was well under weight when we rescued him, I was told he wasn't keen on men either. But 6 months down the line, he reached his perfect weight, and was always at my side, thank you for rescuing Mildred, and thanks to anyone who rescues these beautiful dogs
