The History: In 1988, Panorama Mountain Resort commissioned Doppelmayr to build a brand new, detachable quad chairlift. This chairlift replaced a double chairlift, which itself replaced a t-bar. This chairlift was one of the first Doppelmayr chairlifts in North America to feature a tire turnaround (as opposed to chains). Over the years, it has remained a vital part of Panorama's lift network. The lift runs in both summer and winter, and often for night skiing. I could see this lift being replaced in the next 10 years with a newer lift.
The Lift: This is a 1988 Doppelmayr detachable quad. It was one of the first Doppelmayr detachables to feature tire turnarounds instead of chains. It also features unique terminals, found nowhere else. These terminals were the prototype for the UNI terminal (transitioning from the CLD-260 terminals).
