Heavenly Father I pray over Vanessa right now and her upcoming brain surgery. I ask that you would guild the doctors hand and tools and give them knowledge on how to do the work that needs to be done. I ask that you would be with Vanessa and her thoughts and nerves as she approaches the day of surgery. Give her your peace that surpasses her understanding and not a doubt that you are holding her in your hands. Lord we pray that you allow her to wake up , recover and return her to her babies. Watch over her and her family daily we asking in your name and according to your will. Amen!

I was afraid to watch this video because i thought you would judge women for needing rest. But i'm so glad you explained the difference between idleness and rest. As someone who struggles with mental illnesses, i have a lot less energy and need a lot more rest time in my day to day life. My house is not the cleanest and most organized, the meals i cook are usually very simple and not from scratch and i'm constantly comparing myself to other women who are "better" and more productive than me. But at the end of the day i'm doing the best i can considering my limitations. I'm not christian but i loved this video

💚🙏🏼 I’m a Christian and deal with health issues but that can get me into laziness when I feel good to get up and do things! I start to thank God for my good days and try and do stuff, not be idle. I feel convicted when I’m lazy so that’s a good thing😊

I’m a SAHM and I’ve been overwhelmed managing my scheduled and home while being pregnant and having two under 3. I’ve been avoiding your content lately because you’re so productive and so joyful in your work; I definitely felt convicted and upset I wouldn’t be able to reach that level. Your content couldn’t have come at a better time, truly Gods work at hand.
@MotherhoodforEternity10 ай бұрын
It must be challenging being pregnant with two under three. Sounds like a lot of work. I’m a SAHM myself as well with one 4 y o and a 17 months old. They’re both girls. Productivity for everybody may look differently. Please don’t beat yourself up because you think you’re not as productive as others. Give yourself some grace and keep turning to Jesus. Bring your cares to Him and let Him guide and direct your path. He’s always ready to help. Having a consistent schedule and routine works for me. Also, choosing your priorities for the day is important. If kids are happy and well-fed on a regular basis, getting their scheduled naps and bedtime, being able to play in and outdoors, learning about God through Bible stories, hymns, and nature then consider it a win. Also, don’t be shy to seek help if needed. Being pregnant is already a big work in itself. Schedule days and times for chores. Also, being able to simplify things will be helpful. So, cheer up, mama! You’re doing your best!

I was thinking about idleness a while back and when I saw 'Be sober minded, be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour' (Peter 5:8). Idleness can be something that devours you. Idleness is not resting or relaxing, it is unreasonably avoiding something that you could or should be doing, whatever your purpose is. It was good of you to share this - it really helps focus thoughts about this area.

Currently at the start of my second trimester with baby #2 and still in the throes of nausea and absolute exhaustion. Really enjoying this video so far… I am seeking God already at the moment to reveal my worthless pursuits to me and this video is confirming that I need to keep seeking. But also accepting that during this season I need to accept help and take rest when I’m exhausted instead of carrying on until I’m sick on my feet, and then take pride and joy in my home and spending time with my daughter when I have the energy to do so. Thank you for the video Milena, this was a really brave subject to speak on because it’s so sensitive and specific to each person, but so important to talk about.

I was just going to comment the same thing but I'm further behind in pregnancy. I'm in my second trimester, and though I've desperately searched for work during this time, no one will hire me because I'm due in June..I am trying so hard not to become idle during this time but I'm in a limbo situation. I decided to just apply for some housekeeping/dog walking jobs. Any work for me is better than nothing. I'm also making sure I'm working out everyday, spending time with family, involved in a Bible study, and serving at church. Just feeling so down about myself because I don't want to seem lazy or unproductive.

Hey there! I just wanted to encourage you in something I read this week. It was part of a devotional I read and basically said to pick one or two things to work on where you feel conviction to do better. I think God cares more about quality instead of quantity. As you get better in one area keep that up and just start working on the next thing a little at a time. We don't and can't change overnight its just making little changes for the Lord each day that add up in the long run. Hope that helps!

Don't get overwhelmed! Don't think where someone else is "spiritually" means you have to be there too right now. Everyone walks a very different spiritual walk. I love and am encouraged by this! The only thing I want to point out is that God’s commands don’t ever contradict one another! So I don’t think we should say necessarily that perpetually keeping a disordered home even if we are going out to evangelize all the time is not being idle in some ways! If we are even diligent at work but are not diligent at home we are not fully obeying God! So encouraged by how you want to be faithful to God’s word but also want to exhort you about this! (Titus 2:3-5 & Matthew 28:19-20) 🩷

The point is to understand what our role is. Some would argue that a homemaker waste her time, kids, house, husband… but what says the word of God? Sometimes we can even appear to do things for God, but in reality we are just filling and glorifying our flesh. God never give us a mission that would let us neglect our role as wives and mothers for example 🙂

I’ve been studying 1&2 Peter with the ladies from my church and 3 times in those books does Peter mention to be ALERT and SOBER minded. Something I had a conviction on lately that was so quick to the point with the Lord- instagram. Just unholy content popping up that would just be pollution to me and in general just knowing about peoples life and day rather than just allowing my mind to rest and create and think.. if that makes sense? The Lord just said if it causes you to stumble cut it off (as he does in scripture but it was absolutely spoken to my spirit BY The Spirit) and I haven’t had it on my phone for almost a month other than needing to find something or communicate for 5 seconds and then deleting it again. The Lord is so personable and so grateful for the constant pruning! It was just so polluting, allowing me to not be my best and most sober minded self at times. I might get it back later, I might not. But thank you for talking about this ❤️ you are an incredible inspiration and doing the Lord’s work, sister!

I’ve been having my eyes opened over idleness in the church building.. and where they need “help” I don’t see as biblical for advancing the kingdom of God.. we ourselves are the church so my husband and I see our walk with the Lord advancing more by being at home getting in the word and teaching our children. I’m not stating that I don’t need the church because I still would love to fellowship with the members outside of the building but as for the Sunday routine I’m pretty over. The churches now aren’t how God meant for them to be. Some of us ought to be mature and eating solid food but are still drinking milk in the pews.

I feel like I have a lot of idle hours now that my children are grown and out on their own. Life was always so busy, with so much to do. My husband travels for work, so often it’s just me, the dog, and the chickens. Within just a couple hours of waking up the dog is fed, the chickens have been taken care of, I’ve read my Bible and spent time with God, and the house has been straightened up (it doesn’t really get messy with just me and the dog.) So by mid morning I have a lot of empty time to fill. I read, walk, watch a few KZbin channels, occasionally take classes, but don’t want to work outside the home because it keeps me from being able to travel with my husband when he goes to interesting places, or to travel to see my parents or our boys.

If your heart is more like “ I don’t wanna do this right now I’d rather just do nothing” then maybe it is. Just think about your heart in the matter, and what’s causing you to do what, or in this cause not do.

I had HG 3 times. It doesnt feel like it now, but you will get through this. Praying for a time in your pregnancy where HG stops and doesnt last the entire pregnancy.

Loved this video!! Took many notes in my Bible 💖 Just wanted to let you know that the scripture you referenced (Proverbs 11 v 15) is actually Proverbs 12 v 11 - I went to highlight it and was confused, so I looked it up and found the reference. Much love!!

Loved this video! My only input would be that if you're out preaching in streets and your house a disaster stop and organize your home. Our home is our first ministry. Our home is a reflection of who we are physically and spiritually. God isn't a God of disorder. Other than that great video 🌻🤎

I love this video for my self. It has given me the conviction to push through some laziness. While listening to this as I clean, my family member also heard. Also. I have a family member who is currently disabled because of a painful medical condition . What would you say would be fulfilling and rewarding for my family member as they want to feel helpful and valued as they cannot do too much to contribute? I have told them, their resting is important and it’s not considered being idle.

Thanks for this video!! Curious, who is watching your toddler while you clean and go from room to room? This is what I struggle with…
