I'm confused over what Ridge was rebounding from at this point. Ridge left Brooke to be with Caroline. Then, after Caroline died, Ridge took up with Taylor. Brooke refused to let Ridge alone, despite being married to Eric. Ridge did succumb to her but when it came to it he refused to take the final step. Taylor left Ridge telling him to go be with Brooke but Ridge chased her to St Thomas and spent a week persuading her to marry him. Once back he tells Brooke yet again he doesn't want her. Ridge and Taylor get married and despite Brooke's interference and even the belief that Ridge had fathered her baby, Ridge and Taylor stay married until Taylor is thought to have died in a plane crash. So for the life of me I can't see where the rebound comes into it.

Paulie2906 not entirely true. Ridge Was showing feelings to Brooke while she was married to Eric. When they discussed it the issue was that she was with Eric. At some point Ridge slept with Brooke. Stephanie saw that on tape, forged a letter from Eric saying he loves Stephanie. Stephanie showed it to Brooke and Ridge. Ridge dumped Taylor and picked up with Brooke. When it became clear Eric didn't intend to leave Brooke, Ridge wanted her to move in with him. She refused and cut a deal with Eric to set her free and give her a quick divorce if she waited for 2 months. Eric used this to encourage Taylor to go again after Ridge which she did fully knowing Ridge wanted to be with Brooke and is tormented for his father.

During their marriage until her plane crash and from their marriage in 1998 until Sheila shot her, he stayed fully faithfull to Taylor, started a family and never cared or mourned about not being with Brooke. In fact he rejected all her coming ons to him. The same was true when he was married to Caroline before, Brooke did not come on to him then, but he never longed for Brooke anymore at all then. In fact Brooke was always second best, he would only go to her when he lost his wife (Caroline) or was under the impression his wife died (Taylor), it changed much later when Taylor turned to be alive for the second time. But before that it was Caroline and after she passed away it was Taylor. Ridge's words to Brooke to give it up represent exaxtly how he felt about it himself. It was not just some sacrifice for his father, he really wanted to start a life with Taylor.

Cheating, getting pregnant by your daughter's husband, going after your daughter's and sister's loved ones, lying about a child's paternity. Hunting and scheming to get men and leaving a path of destruction for those involved. For what Brooke did the word 'misstep' does not even fit. Besides that in 1995 Eric was not married to Stephanie or in a relationship with her and Taylor was not with Ridge, so technically it was not even a misstep. In my memory that so called affair also didn't go much further than a kiss or two.

Taylor was in an extremely abusive relationship both physically and verbally. That is why she had plastic surgery. If I remember correctly, she had to have reconstructive surgery because of the abuse she endured. When you are in an abusive relationship even just emotionally and verbally it brings your self-esteem to an all time low. It doesn't matter how beautiful you are if your partner is constantly telling you that you're not good enough, you're not pretty enough etc... Hunter and Taylor have actually experienced some of the same issues on the show and in real life. It's like the saying about art imitating life. Both Hunter and Taylor lost a child. Both experienced physical and mental abuse. Both were used and mistreated by men. It's absolutely heartbreaking. Know one deserves that and due to all the trauma she experienced is the reason she left the show several times. Just wanted to shed some light on why she did what she did to her face.
