We couldn't get tickets for him, so we hid in the grandstand during the afternoon concert. That's how we managed to see Miles Davis in the evening.

Love this stuff!! What good concerts Miles put on in the 80’s. He actually wasn’t really into fusion that much anymore but delved deeper into the jazz pop and almost more of a funk 😮🎉❤

I think 🤔 I had made three years old already. Captain Dugar had to keep me sometimes. We were working 💪 for THE RED CROSS ❌️. So, sometimes my big brother Captain Dugar and/or my Daddy took me out on dates. And that's how I got to go a lot of places - like CAFE ROUGE!😅🎉😂😊 THANKS ❤❤SUZE'Q

Great music. It's funny they are advertising Lot Polish Airlines and Lee Jeans. These times almost all of us were too poor to fly or get pair of Lee jeans. I'm glad Miles music is still with us, and that nowadays Poland is much more European country than in 80's. One thing did not changed here. The appeciation of good live music.

I was there, I was 20, and got the signature of Bill Evans, Darryl Jones and Mino Cinelu!!! But I catch it finally in these days...It was very special political situation in our countries: Polad and Czechoslovakia, I am from Prague. Some of my friend couldn t go there, because all members of Jazz section secret police get out from the train on the borders! We have GOOD LUCK, go by car - across DDR. I like it so much - this video. Thank you for this post!

So cool - I was lucky to see him a few times in the 80s as well - 1982 (Boston Common with Pat Metheny group) had Bill Evans but Mike Stern (not very lucid that night). 1984 at Newport Jazz had this lineup but with Bob Berg and was absolutely on fire. Great memories!

A skład zespołu ... giganci!!!! T&D

Ale on jest Bogiem nadal.. !! Pozdrawiam.

Ahoj! Mně bylo 20 let. Dorazili jsme dobrodružně z Prahy přes DDR, protože Čechy tehdy do Varšavy nepouštěli přes hranice! Mám velmi podobné zážitky, nakonec jsme skoro vůbec nespali...Byla dost zima, venku to foukalo, ale uvnitř sálu to vřelo a byli jsme svědky něčeho zcela mimořádného!

The concert - a rare gem. Thank you! In that time (just after the end of communist regime's State of War) it must have been like the Descent of the Holy Spirit or Marsians landing on the Earth, with a emphasise of the first option, since the Pope was Polish! :)

This is probably the best quality video I've ever seen from Poland. The sound is on point, the video editing is tight, they even get good shots of Al Foster. It has an Antibes like warmth to it.

Siedziałam obok Niemena i... swojej wielkiej miłości.

I was there too. The atmosphere was electric. You can feel that Miles loved it. He was also treated like a king in Poland. He made some requests before coming that were not easy to fullfill in a then communist country, example: 17 bottles of Perrier. I heard they had someone go to the west to buy them. Miles later let Urbaniak play one solo on Tutu and I was always wondering if it was because of the memories he had

1:16:29 hits directly into heart... what i love about Miles is that he knows exact moment to play from his soul, and with feelings, emotions.. that always surprises and amazes me. Nowadays, even famous and succesful musicians play more to "show off" with their velocity and tecnique instead of bringing emotions out through notes. Well atleast we learn from it, my goal is to be able to transfer all my emotions when i play, to make people cry or to make them laugh, through music. Miles lives forever !

And this boys and girls how it's done. 40 years ago (2023) a miracle in Warsaw happened. As far as I know only very selected and lucky people got a ticket. There was 5 minutes for photographers allowed or else. No encores etc. I listened to the concert on the radio It was obvious the atmosphere was incredibly electric You could hear it. I recorded that one on my cassette deck and listened many times. Now in Canada I'm sure it's here somewhere. Saw Miles in NY but it was nowhere near this one. Hmm, do we have guys like that nowadays ? Just efing out of this world.

he worked with Miles on most albums from 1972 'On the Corner' through to 1985 'You're Under Arrest' and then once again in 1989, he was also one of the few people to keep in contact with Miles during his 'break' 1976-1980, even working a session with Miles in 1978. Love Al Foster!
