In the early to mid 1960s, Ford was regrarded as conservative, reliable and dependable. That was of course compared to accepted norms of the day, not the normal conditions of 2022.

Miles is the kinda of guy you stand behind. If they had pushed him as the man of Shelby/ Ford racing they would have made tons as regular Americans can relate to a man like Ken miles and after watching him race you bet the ford dealer would be full on the weekend

The reason we posted this video three years ago is because the actor Josh Lucas came to The Beat Museum in 2012 when he was preparing for his role as Neal Cassady in the movie Big Sur by Michael Polish. We found it ironic that Josh's character of Leo Beebe in Ford vs Ferrari would call Miles a "Beatnik" since Josh actually played one of the original Beats in Big Sur.
