37:30 Ever played Megaman Zero 3? Omega Zero has zeros much stronger og body. But Zero beat him 1v1, not only because of more experience but his heart and drive. It's how I view this fight too. Selim may have miles powers, but the experience and drive aren't there. He's not fighting to protect, but Miles is. We all know how spiders get down when lives are on the line🤘🏾

Tbh? I liked this story. I think the clone saga was shorter and more to the point than Peter's story was, and the clones themselves do a good job at showing what makes miles special. Some claim "he's the same as peter" but imo that's never been the case. Each of the spiders(even the clones) have sumn that sets them apart from Peter. How ironic that a story of clones speaks on how miles is different. It was short, sweet, did what it needed to do, was set up pretty decently, and doesn't seem to dumb any of the characters down to make another look good. I LOVED that ending too💯

Thanks for the review. I was very reluctant to read the new clone saga…, as the name itself sounds like they retreading old Spiderman concepts with Miles. I mean the whole point of Miles was to be something completely different right? Sometimes I wish they let Miles run around the Ultimate universe instead.

@@saturncrush If i may? Sometimes retreading old concepts gives u the chance to do better. I honestly liked this far better than the og clone saga. As the focus was What made miles special. And yeah, part of miles is to be different, but also to rise to the challenge of being a spider-man. And with that in mind, ppl will want to take that power for themselves, aka clones. I think him going it alone in the ultimate universe would be interesting but it would also kinda mess up the role miles has now. I enjoy him interacting with the 616 and dealing with its crazy. He also remembers the 1610 still, which kinda adds another layer of crazy as he knows what his life was like, AND that both his parents died. He attacked Eddie during venoms comics because he remembered 1610 venom being what killed his mom. Im rambling but tldr? Thanks for the complement, I hope u enjoy miles morales as a character👍🏾🤘🏾

I really liked the use of the clones in this story-not sure if any one else has or did? Seeings how people don’t like the Peter Parker clone saga, myself included. My only hope though is that they don’t try copying the AFTERMATH of clone saga on peters part, and what I mean by that is we got Kaine Parker and Ben Reilly respectively, so I hope it doesn’t turn into that with shift-like him getting a solo series and stuff. It’d be cool for sure, but it would most certainly feel like a copy from peters clone saga and on that note I don’t want it too feel that way.

Is it bad I feel like a shift story could work tho? Except don't have it be anything big, but have him being at home with Billy taking care of her while the others are either out or in the house. With miles teaching him how to talk, playing games with him, bringing him books, and taking him out for a web swing every now and then. Have Shift interact with his mom and dad, and that despite his messy appearance, that kindness and positivity that miles has? It shines in Shifts eyes and actions too. Shift would be trying to discover himself, and figure out what life is like without his bros, as well as what he wants to do We see he's good at graffiti right? Maybe he starts to make art, and Jefferson supplies him with items to do so. Slowly, shift starts making his own art/graffiti company. But under disguise so no one freaks out. When miles comes home from school/hero business, he joins up with shift to help work on projects.. Since they are the same person, they synchronize quickly. That's how I'd write a shift mini series. I'd have it be like 5 issues total. Maybe 3. Or have it be a side story going on in the background.

@@chriss.249 well firstly? I gotta give congrats to you man cause literally that’s an awesome concept for a mini series 😍 so yeah pros to you there. But yeah totally! Like a common theme that’s kinda being played in marvel as of late is making miniseries’ tie into the bigger picture which, albeit cool-does kinda retract from the whole aspect of it being a limited series set on this particular character. Which is why I like this concept. It’s not something huge and more so it actually helps to bring in some more life and character to Shift. So yeah no I don’t think it’s terrible to make a mini series or any series for that matter for Shift cause again, having it grounded like how you wrote it? Would be perfect. But my only complaint truly is if marvel decides to go on with a mini series-they have to make it BETTER. From peters’ clone saga as I stated previously, we got Ben and Kaine respectively and now their fan favorite characters for sure! But they were brought into an entire series, trying to become their own spidermen. Where it went as of now? I’d say that succeeded. Back in the day though, it took a bit to jump on board I’m sure. Which is why I like YOUR approach to writing a miniseries for Shift, cause it’s not him trying be the next spiderman: miles morales!! It’s him trying to discover who HE is and who he wants to be. In short I really like your concept 😂

I don’t think that Selim was the better version of Miles. Miles lashed out in the lab that Selim created to save his brothers thinking it was to make more clones. Selim lashed out and tried to take out Miles family. These are both very emotional and wrathful responses. If he was the better version of Miles Selim would have handled this whole situation waaaaaay differently. He was designed to be better than miles in certain ways that Miles may never and should never grasp.

After this saga I can't forsee a change in personality for either Miles or his parents. They will carry on as if none of this ever happened. And to me... That is not a good aftermath of a saga so its unnecessary.

I just finished the spill and tbh, I feel like while things may not change much(besides shift staying around and possibly being his own character, maybe he gets into painting and he and miles open up a type of graffiti line. Shift can be working on it in his downtime and miles can sign on after he finishes school) it does show who miles is as a person. He cares not only for his family, but wanted to save his clones. They were victims and mattered too. Have u ever read the spider man mini story where Peter is out 1 night and sees a kid stealing a bike, police try to chase the kid down, but Peter tells them no, and goes to speak to the kid on the rooftop? He explains that the kid doesn't have to listen to the guys that put him up to it, and that he can make his own choices. After a heart to heart, the kid puts the gun down and leaves with the cops to get help. I don't think comic characters always have to have super deep character development/changes to make a story have weight/be good. (In some cases, that's more anime arc esque, even then sometimes it doesn't stick the landing.) I think sometimes it's for the characters to show what's already in them. Spiderverse was an amazing comic but didn't change much about who the characters were. Same with king in black for Peter Parker. Character development is great but isn't always necessary is my point. However, I do think miles will slow down on making hasty decisions led out of anger if u want "development" for him.
