This is honestly one of the best moments in storytelling from a movie. Miles goes from being a dark, overly serious and somewhat douchey character, to a full tragic character that everyone understands. The way the scene was delivered was on point too. It starts innocent, then really creepy, then just sad. All in a very short time span.

"I went looking for wars to fight. I saw brave men die. Thousands, in a blink of an eyed, but not me, I couldn't die. I'm still here." ..... It gets to me all the time.

@@dinaf.k5372 Just think about it. You're life has been ruined because you can't age, people think that you sold your soul to the devil, you have nothing left. No friends. You have a deep depression. You have nothing to live for and nothing to lose.. You try to join the army and try to get killed in battle, as he mentioned, he fought at Gettysburg. The bloodiest of the American Civil War, he saw men die by the thousands, all that endless slaughter for nothing. You just give up. You don't have to experience that to relate. It's scary man.

Touching, I think the actor that played Miles would be a good bad guy in another movie.
@tierefuerimmer96352 жыл бұрын
Theoretically he could be somewhat of a bad guy here as he did technically kidnap Winnie. Not out of evil but because he wanted to protect his family but she was at first brought against her will which technically makes it kidnapping

I’m a aspiring film critic and I gotta say, while this was no academy award performance, Scott Bairstow’s speech here is absolutely soul crushing. You can really hear the pain in his acting especially towards the end of it. It’s heartbreaking.

My favorite scene Always cry when Miles talks about his family and you can see Winnie trying to comprehend First time in the movie Miles acts like a “human" I think it’s also the first time Winnie was no longer scared of Miles

This is such a good scene from this film. I saw the movie when I was in fourth grade. It’s been over twenty years since. I need to watch it again to look at it and appreciate it in another light, now that I’m older

Time didn't grow on Miles body but it did on his soul. This is one of the few parts of this film I favor over the original 1981 version of this movie. For this scene the acting is great and the bigger budget with the cut in remembrance scenes all have great effect. It's like a movie in a movie. I also like the remake parts where Tuck takes Winnie out in the boat and when the man in the yellow suit stares at tombstones in the night.
