Scariness is a subjective quality. No Resident Evil game (7 included) has ever been scary, to me, for example, but I used to be _terrified_ of the final boss of Doom 2. This does not mean that Doom 2 is scarier than any Resident Evil.

All that I've heard about RE5 and RE6 are bad things and usually when I ask someone why it goes like this: "What's so bad about resi 5?" -It's just bad. like, super bad- "Really? I think it's a pretty fun action game. Sure, it's not really a Resident Evil game, but I still like it." -Nah, it's bad.- Some of the most fun I've ever had with a co-op experience was playing resi 5 and 6 with a close friend of mine. I say a lot of people consider RE5 to be one of the best online co-op and couch co-op games created. It's a really fun game. The gameplay is also good. RE6 took the gameplay and made it even better case in point being RE6 Mercenaries which is amazing.
