I actually remember figuring Azazel out, he's got what I call Onaga Syndrome. By that I mean he is super weak to combos that deal a lot of damage in short strings after he uses a highly telegraphed attack. Couple this with turtling it with block until he opens up and I barely lose to him. Kazuya, Jin, and Paul are good examples. Not sure if anyone else has seen it this way, but that's just the most effective strategy I used.

I don't remember what I did for every character (I beat him with everyone at least once years ago) but I remember with Asuka after blocking a big attack I'd do her one jump kick that is fast and has high priority juggle him a bit and repeat. He was easy. When people call him hard I wanna throw various SNK games at them (like samurai shodown 5)

I feel so much better knowing a professional like Max is having the same problems with that bullshit final boss. I keep looking online for some kind of strategy, but I just keep finding try-hards that are like "Duh, just get good. Timing, blah, blah, hit him before or after attack." But, you're right, Max, that god damned super armor is randomized, you can see it when you try to knock it out of that stupid roll. Even blocking doesn't help, because his attacks will push you across the screen, so you can't hit him again without leaving yourself wide open.

Max if you'd played Tekken 6 for more than 2 days you would have learned through the story mode that Jin is still a good guy, and pretended to be bad to cause chaos in the world, bring Azazel out of hiding so he could defeat him. He's one of the most interesting characters in video games, especially fighting games.

Tekken 6's console ports are an interesting case in the series. Much like the console versions of Tekken 1, 2, and 4 (which used PS1 and PS2-based hardware in their arcade cabinets), the PS3 version of Tekken 6 SHOULD have been arcade-perfect, as the System 357 arcade board was essentially PS3 hardware, right down to using the XMB. However, the PS3 version looked notably worse (Arcade ran at 720p, while PS3 ran at 576p; both used 2XAA to deal with jaggies). The X360 version actually ran at a higher resolution (768p) but lacked anti-aliasing and arguably looked the worst out of all three. It's also worth noting that T6 is the first mainline Tekken to release on a non-Sony console. I'm not sure why the PS3 version had to sacrifice quality in its port, but the rumor was that politics between Namco and Microsoft forced them to nerf the PS3 port's performance in order to have quality parity between the two versions. If anyone has some confirmation/refutation of that, I'd LOVE to know.

Tony Infinite Yep, Tekken 4 was based off PS2 hardware, and Tekken 1 & 2 were based off PS1 hardware; those iterations were essentially arcade-perfect. Tekken 3 and 5 were the exceptions, as the arcade cabs used "updated" versions of PlayStation hardware (System 12 and 256 respectively) so the console ports weren't quite arcade-perfect. That makes Tekken 6 a little weird, because despite having the same hardware for the arcade and PS3, the port mysteriously wasn't arcade-perfect. Being the first multi-platform release in the series might have attributed to it, though. P.S. I loved how Tekken 4 had controller ports for PS2 controllers back then. My friends and I were mostly pad players at the time, and it was a godsend having the ability to bring our own controllers and play comfortably at the arcade. Not sure how long this feature persisted in the series.

Azazel is the main reason I almost never played arcade mode. I did play ghost battle for HOURS though, even though I enjoyed T6, I still found myself going back to the older ones, something about this one just kinda... lacks that Tekken charm, I can't quite put my finger on it.

The last boss made me enjoy the game less. I'm not that great at Tekken but I like running trough arcade with everybody to unlock all the endings. I've done it in T1-5, and Tag1 and 2. This game though I could only ever clear it with a handful of characters.

Azazel definitely did irritate me too when I first got this game years ago, but the more I played against him, the more predictable he became. His double low tail sweep move is very reactable and punishable as well as his high laser. Whenever he would block too much I would just spam unblockable moves until I got him. Sometimes it would work, sometimes not. Overall, a lot of his powerful moves are very reactable and predictable. His flying teleport move could easily be baited and his ground spikes could be side stepped easily if you're at a good distance from him. I played king while doing all of this and beat him pretty easily on hard mode. Not a tough boss once you see his pattern

one tip for Azazel: Knock him down then do your unblockable. He'll stay down to avoid it, but he's so big that he'll get hit by it every time. You can shave off 25-35% of his health with one hit, depending on the character.

Azazel looks tough, but has a lot of obvious telegraphs to almost all his moves and he's really exploitable- especially if you know the ins and outs of your character of choice. Like getting him in a bounce state and then using Avenger with Jin for example- Azazel will just lay there and you'll hit him due to the size of his hitbox. He's not going to fight fair, you may as well not either lol.
