Aside from that a number of unfinished prototype characters for Virtua Fighter, which I should note are still in that game's code, made an appearance in Tekken. The most obvious one being Prototype Jack who looks identical to Prototype Jeff, and perhaps less obvious way Siba influenced Yoshimitsu's fighting style which is especially evident in his Fighter's Megamix appearance.

I love how Paul's fighting style is supposedly Judo, a martial art with no strikes, and all he does is strike, even in most of his throws. Might explain why Austin Power's Judo Chop is so OP.

Fun fact, up until Tekken 3, It was just the wind god fist. Jin was the first Mishima to get an EWGF. Then, in Tekken Tag 1, where Heihachi got it, then Tekken 4 where Kazuya got it. This Makes Kazuya, the first playable Mishima, the last of the 3 to actually get the revered EWGF, which has now become one his most essential tools to this day.

Harada produced the first & second Tekken games while he did the voices for Yoshimitsu, Marshall Law, & Kunimitsu. It wasn't until the Third game when he became the director.

Memories.. My dad bought me this and wipeout 1.. Along with a ps1.. He trained for 2 weeks, learning nina's throw move to fight me on xmas day.. This was a guy who has never played a game before.. knowing I played alot of SFII and MK1 on snes.. He beat me twice before I adapted.. Yup tottally agree, my personal favorite of the series. It was dropped because it failed on the competetive level and the lack of characters, jin being OP as f*ck but the artistic approach, visuals,levels,videos. Made it my personal favorite PS2 game. The stages were breathtaking and the soundtack was the best of the series. Just look at the character select screen how well they were done, how real they actually were to actual people. Artist made also a great job with the clothing. Jins hoodie, Chrities sexy green outfit and the best Hwoarang (still dont understand why they never bought the military design with short hair style back) and no ridiculous monster boss.

CrysisFear Yep, all true, the characters and overall feel of the game felt more realistic and the soundtrack set the atmosphere perfectly. Now all tekken music is just loud techno beep boop dub step garbage and most of the characters are just comedic tropes now. I remember paul being this cool biker unsung heroe of the tekken series, he won tournaments but never got recognized for it and had real struggles about that but now he's a money chasing, extra terrestrial hunting, broke moron bent on proving intergalactic universe supremacy....wtf namco? Lol

Tekken 2 is definitely my favorite entry in the series (I loved playing as Kazuya and Kunimitsu), It got me into playing the other Tekken games (Tekken 1, 3 ,4, Tag 1 and 2) it would be until few years after that I would start playing Tekken 5 and 6. I definitely can't wait to get my hands on Tekken 7 and finally see the final showdown between Kazuya and Heihachi.

Tekken 2 was the first game I got on PS1. For whatever reason I saw Tekken (1) at toysrus a year later and asked to get it, it was on sale for like 15 bucks or something. I remember it feeling very clunky compared to Tekken 2 but I enjoyed seeing the different characters. Good memories.

The first game I EVER played on PS1 was this Tekken. I remember this game was brand new and my dad rented me the game and the PS at Blockbuster as a late birthday present (I miss those days). My cousin and I played it then we tried to beat it. Heihachi gave us so much trouble that we passed the control to my little brother who had been watching us the whole time. He beat Heihachi FIRST TRY! We were like no way we should've just let you play in the first place. Keep in mind my cousin and I were like 12 at the time, my brother was 7 and had never even touched the controller before then, much less played a match. This is a true story I put it on my fathers grave.

Tekken 2 was the first one I ever played, via the "Interactive Sampler Disc" 3 for PS1, but Tekken 1 was the first one I ever owned. I'm glad it turned out that way, because even if Tekken 1 hasn't aged well, or doesn't hold much of a candle to 2, it was a fantastic game for it's time.
