To further comment on the ballerina aspect, the name of the monster itself is a reference to that. Lala Barina is basically an acronym of "La Bailarina" which is spanish for dancer, ballerina and such, which is pretty neat. Its female armor even looks similar to some traditional flamenco dresses!

The cooking is for the temporary buff like when u do before hunting but now you can do it yourself, so ofc u still have the usual grill meat bcs that one is different as it specifically for stamina boosting (& specific effects like warm/chill meat)

I wonder if they're going to bring back flinch shots from Iceborne, because while they were really fun, especially when you flinch shot two monsters into each other, they did sort of become an overwhelmingly powerful tool such that you were always looking for an opportunity to use them. I think they'd be cool as a less central part of damage dealt if the game gives us additional methods to stagger monsters.

Lala Barina is the third Temnoceran they've made in the main series, fifth if you count subspecies. Still don't know why Rey Dau was being mistaken for Gore/Shagaru, it was so clearly a flying wyvern from the moment it was revealed.

No it's the apex monster of that specific biome. So think Rathalos of Ancient Forrest, Diablos of Wildspire Waste, Legiana of Coral Highlands, and Odogaron of Rotten Vale. Bazelguese is of the invader type class of monsters. It can show up in any biome and will aggro on to you on sight without you even attacking it. Now it's possible Rey Dau is nomadic and can show up on different biomes just like Rathalos. But nomadic type monsters do not act in the same way as invader monsters like Deviljho, Bazel, or Seregios.

You can start with ANY Monster Hunter game and play them in any order. None of them require you to have played previous games to understand them because they're all quite light on plot. If you find yourself really enjoying them, I recommend playing the old games too, as they are fantastic as well.

This game IS one of the marquee AAA titles next year. comparing sales to something like Pokémon probably isn't fair, but with how utterly successful worlds and to a lesser extent, risebreak was, wilds will be just as successful. It did what awakening did for fire emblem: took a game massively (and I mean MASSIVELY) popular in the east and made it more accessible in the west. There's no way a new BL would overshadow it at this point~
