My wedding was 9 days before this show. It was on Long Beach Island, NJ. Jonny Rosch's band played. I asked him to bring a saxophone player. He brought the sax player from Southside Johnny's band. For almost 2 hours nearly every person at the wedding was dancing. Amazing experience.

I was at this concert! I remember the stage and Bobby B's pink shirt. I looked it up to make sure and yup, it was a Friday. Southside was a NJ legend even back then. Always a great showman, his concerts were (and still are I hear) so much fun!

Been a fan of Springsteen since '73. Found Southside Johnny around'75. I love that Jersey sound! Saw Bruce twice, Southside once at Summerfest in '81. Also saw him backing up the Stones in '78. My 3 favorites + the Ramones!!!

Saw SSJ in or about 1977-78 at the Place in Victory Gardens, N.J. I was too close to the speakers and have had tinnitis ever since. A good show that I have remembered every day for the past 45 years or so.

@@jonbon8598 Hi @jonbon8598. I've only just noticed your comment and if you think Southside is better that's fine. Just listening to music is the real winner. From the personal side; my first Four Tops record was 'Baby I need your loving' and they have been part of my life ever since. I think only Jackie Wilson gets anywhere close to Levi Stubbs. As for Southside etc I have their first LP and first three UK singles. Their first 45 'I don't want to go home' is, in my opinion, brilliant and I play it a lot. I'm not someone who automatically thinks the first is best. For example Springstein's version of 'Any other way' is just as good as the original. Take care. I wish you well.

I have loved John over the years and hearing this I am happy he has quit playing live. Sorry, but his voice in the last couple of years just cannot do what it once did. Thanks for 50 years, but it was time to go home and do projects and record. But live? No. Too much on the man.
