Honestly, people need to cut Miley some slack for her "crazy" phase. We have so many examples of child starts who completely lost it in adulthood, who got into drugs and crime and lost all of their ability to function as normal adults. Even at her most controversial, Miley still was immensely successful. She broke free from her Disney persona and from her Hannah Montana image and only then was she able to become her own person, who had proven to be separate from that childhood figure. It was painful and shocking and outrageous- but it was clearly important to her, to distance herself to be free of the Hanna Montana image. The association is still there, of course, but *no one* nowadays looks as Miley Cyrus performing and isn't 100% sure that she is Miley Cyrus and not Hannah Montana.

Seeing all the comments about how this is "like the good old days" or that its "nice to have Miley back" is upsetting...Miley never left. Her fans did. Her physical appearance changed and everyone hated her all of a sudden. She was still this person last year and shes still the same person now that she was when everyone hated her. Because she cut her hair, dressed different, and made music she liked more most of her fans left her and trashed her while they did it. Her dramatic change ws the most inspiring thing she has EVER done. She's talked about how much she hates the pressure to be what the fans want since Hannah Montana started. She has always hated being "the old Miley" even when it was the current one. She did what made her happy for a while, decided to do her own thing for a while and she got solid hate. And now that shes back to doing what the fans want instead of what she wants everyone's giving her praise again. Its honestly heartbreaking.
