This is exactly how I interpreted her album. One song she was saying she didn’t care anymore and a few songs later she would say she thought about him. I could tell the songs were written in moments of emotion over time. I love her
@vbvermont4 жыл бұрын
It surprises me when fans or even interviewers assume that songs are autobiographical. Sure, the artist needs to connect to something creatively, but I bet it’s fun to play with the lyrics or go a bit dark with something that might not have been particularly heavy. It’s ART.

Lol this is kinda true, I was thinking it. The way he was like “You’re giving this guy too much by writing about him” As if Liam did something bad, when he didn’t it was Miley who kept going back to him, and sometimes a relationship just doesn’t work but it doesn’t mean there’s major animosity there

He misunderstood. It’s definitely about Liam, but she doesn’t always feel that way towards him. Her feelings change and for a sec she acts tough and like she’s moved on, but like she said, she’s got her moments of weakness too.

Just wanna say, Miley articulated the songwriting process better than any instructor or writer I've ever heard. I would add that the mason jar is on record so if those thoughts and feelings should come up again, you know how to identify them. That's why we go back to certain songs when we feel certain ways. Ya.. I've studied songwriting longer than she's been alive and she hit the nail right on the head.

I`ve been interested in songwriting for a while, but I guess when I would get back to what I had written, it just wouldn`t feel good or right.. I guess song writing is capturing a moment, that`s so cool!!
@karolinak71404 жыл бұрын
Do you think that we should only write about ourselves? I mean that’s what she’s said that she does but a lot of songwriters write stories into their lyrics, about life they didn’t live, about characters basically

Honesty I think if she left Disney like this she would have had a better imagine, but she came out twerking with her tongue out dancing naked on a wrecking ball just so people would talk about her when she didn't have to go that route. Yeah there was going to my parent haters refusing to let her grow up, but she could have gotten the same success without all antics.

As someone twice divorced, I get where she's coming from. I do NOT want to be with my exes ever again. I don't wish them ill will and I want the best for them and even think of them from time-to-time in a positive way. But you do move on. Just because you talk about something from the past, doesn't mean that you are still enamored with it. We are the lump sum of our life and choices.

I totally get what she means. In the moment when she was throwing shade and saying “I don’t even miss you at all” about Liam, she was angry. She didn’t miss him because she was pissed off. Time heals all wounds and I’m sure in a WAY she misses him, occasionally. She writes when she feels strongly and there’s power in that. But we don’t feel super strongly about things forever or all the time.
@fridalinneabengtsson4 жыл бұрын
The way she reflects on her songwriting is so spot on, that's what all people who deals with writing music does: it's therapy. Part of therapy is going through the motions, all of them very different parts of you and your "identity". One person isn't just one thing. You're not defined by your feelings and actions alone, because they are fleeting, although they are a part of a whole. That's what's so frustrating sometimes, when people tend to hold a song you wrote years ago or maybe even last week, against you or make their minds up about who you are, what the relationship is between you and the person you write about, based on that specific song. Life, humanity, personality, feelings and circumstance are forever evolving.

I really love the way she describes the creative process. You only have a moment or window to capture something and then it's gone. It can come back to you sometimes but it doesn't have the touch, the fire it had before for some reason. As a painter and sculptor I feel like that every day.
@lmzn5004 жыл бұрын
Love how she explained her songwriting process, I work in the music industry too and when I’m writing my own songs, I definitely relate to that. It’s the moment and feeling you have or wanna catch that you wanna translate into words and it doesn’t necessarily mean you feel it ALL the time. Writing is also therapeutic (at least for me). Very nicely said ☺️

Wow..it is true..you don't feel the same way about someone even about yourself all day everytime..there are moments..sometimes i see myself a failure..and sometimes lkke i can do anything i want to..she so beautifully put that in words..the thoughts need not be permanent..the thoughts maybe fleeting..and that doesn't need to be one's identity..i think every one agree it has happened to them..she just put it out there..we sometimes even regret that we felt like that even for a second..but she shows that u r not alone..it is normal to have those fleeting moments..that doesn't need to define u..
@mungofinalfi44804 жыл бұрын
I think it's that spectra of emotions that defines you. It defines being human basically. It involves both feeling shitty and feeling great, and all the inbetweens. As long as you don't end up staying too long on the darker sides of the spectra and as long as you don't yoyo between the extremes too much I think you'll be okay.

YESSSSSS girrrl... yesssss!!! That is so honest!!!! Now that is something I can relate to Miley!! It is so true.. we go through a rollercoaster of emotions in a break up with someone we truly loved and devoted ourselves to. It only makes sense.. that we need to allow ourselves time to evolve emotionally through that healing time after!!! We may go back and forth in how we feel.. and I think that it is okay.. until our heart and mind can come to a meeting in the middle of finally get to feeling a sense of being okay.. and then truly being ready and happy to move on! People need to allow themselves that time.. and let the unsteadiness be what it is .. and not freak out.. and know you will get there! Be kind and patient with yourself.

Hair color and such aside, there is something about her energy lately that is reminding me so much of Joan Jett, it's incredible! And I'm not even talking clothes or music here... it's deeper than that... it's something in the way she talks now, the pace of her speech, the way she moves her mouth, eyes, etc. Take it from someone who some folks say should be president of Joan Jett University (if there was one), JJ and Miley are soul sisters to the very core! I'm serious!!

Miley, hi.. 😊 I feel that you really are on the verge of receiving your "everything". I have always found you to be captivating and I dunno, everything that I need/want to feel in someone. I can't say that I have really followed you or your musical career to be honest, but I know your there and I just loved the idea of who I thought you were. I have been getting drawn to your performances of late and recently a couple of interviews, I am truely wowed by the fact that I am "no shit" everything your articulating about yourself. The first time I heard Miley, she was singing Wrecking Ball live on UK radio (Live lounge In think), at the end she knocked it up one octave just for kicks! That was when I declared her a great rock singer... Perhaps the greatest for her age! If she was hanging around with Chris Cornell and not Dolly Parton as a child perhaps it would be different... Who knows which sound she would have been drawn towards? She has already covered some of Cornells stuff and she shows incredible restraint... Keeps you waiting and then when you think nuts all over... down from 4th to third, floors it and the roof blows off, EXACTLY where it should! (Apologies to any Americans who have never driven a 20 year old Mazda 323 with stick-shift in England). 😉
