It is always entertaining to me when I come here to listen to Miley cover some song. It doesn't matter what genre it is. Country, Pop, Metal, Hard Rock, 70s pop and now bluegrass. (Yes bluegrass ... this isn't a country song). Whatever it is she can sing it well and a number of the comments always start "I'm not a MIley Cyrus fan but ..." OK people figure it out. She has an amazing voice. Just admit it and be a fan and deal with the fact that she is going to sing something you don't like but she will do it well none the less.

I'm not a fan of her music, but after this, after her cover of Joleane and her duet with Dolly Parton and after seeing a couple duets with her dad I'm convinced she should leave pop music and start singing country, rockabilly bluegrass and Southern Rock . She'd be great at that, so much so that she could bring rock and roll back to prominence. She could even sing Hard Rock like the early days of Guns N' Roses or AC/DC. I'd love to hear her sing Janis Joplin songs.

But I'm not really sure what these music historians are referring to - 1961 Bob Dylan, The Stanley Brothers from 1950, or the oldest known recording of 1928? Surely they can't mean the Clooney movie where Dan Tyminski sang the George part in the year 2000! Music is out there for all of us and it's not sacred.
