It’s not fair that we’re only “young” for such a short period of our lives. My dad used to always tell me growing up, “You’ll be an adult a lot longer than you’ll be a kid - don’t rush it.”
@brandimadrid2219Ай бұрын
I tell my son that. He’s still little, but it’s also my answer when I let him stay babied a bit longer. You’ll be an adult a lot longer than you’ll be a kid. ❤
@tlh0121Ай бұрын
@@brandimadrid2219 yes! I’m always telling this to my 8-year-old daughter (who is already growing up at super sonic speed), but it usually goes in one ear and right out the other - just as it did when my dad told me as kid. We all want to be grown so bad, but once we get there we cry about how unfair it is that adulthood is 3 x’s longer than childhood lol.

Chronic pain and illness cut my young years way too short. Couldn’t describe how I feel about it in a song better really. I look back of when i felt beautiful, when my body looked good because I could work out back then, when I was in love, when I travelled, and more importantly when I was so happy. And I’m tired of looking back at ‘the good years’ all the time. I do everything I can in my power to change things, but sometimes the mountain is just bigger than you. Thanks for giving me some lyrics to ‘feel’ to, rather than keeping my mind busy all the time. I love you mileyyyyy
@pinkrainclouds219011 күн бұрын
Yes completely. This was already an emotional song for me, but it wasn’t until I read your post that I understood that I feel another layer of disappointment and loss listening to this. My health has robbed me of the wild young and free days that Miley describes. Between my health issues, depression and more, I’ve never had wild and free days. I feel loss and longing for days I never had and fear for the upcoming years that everyone warns you about. I’m 28 and already exhausted. I was done at 18 and had to fight against my desire to give up in order to keep going. So while people like Miley think about the “wild years” when they were young, people like us mourn the times we lost and are bracing ourselves for the rest of this.

I grew up with Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana and through her wild era, and now seeing her find herself has been so beautiful! I don’t think people realize the emotional and mental strength it must have taken to overcome the extreme public hatred towards her! She is finally getting the recognition she deserves ❤

Exactly. Growing up a star in Hollywood and the fickle music world is never easy. She had an identity crisis and broke free from her Disney beginning but went a bit too wild. Now she’s matured out and knows who she is more. I also think Dolly Parton has been a good mother figure to her and helped straighten her out. This video touched me. ❤️

She should have won a Grammy for this song! This is her heart she is laying out open. She’s forgiving herself finally and thank God Dolly Parton was in this young woman’s life! She was her ONLY voice of reason. I have always loved her voice and I still jam to Party in the USA, but I just could never call myself a fan because I thought it would make me an enabler like everyone else! Well, I’m a fan now! Miley, you’ll never read this, but I pray only the best for you in the future and great music! Do things that you want and choose to do, you’re an adult now so no one can tell you how you have to be.

Personally, I think you are waaaay to young to fully understand what you are singing. I wonder if your godmother helped you write it?😊 Since I first heard it, I've listened to this song at least a couple times every day. I sing it with my best friend, aka - my wife of 40+ years. my 2 favourite singers over the past 3 years have been miley cyrus & 25yo opera singer, patricia janeckova!! sadly, however, patricia died yesterday at the young age of 25 with breast cancer!! she was destined to become the world's greatest opera soprano as well as being a fine actress!! both she & miley are unique in that their voices are not conventional but both brilliant! patricia is well worth checking out, not just for her opera songs but also music from film & theatre!! outside of opera she liked listening to the doors, the beatles & american west coast music!!

Trust in Jesus, Hell is real and eternal! This is what the Bible says about it.. "The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Matthew 13: 41-42 Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven "I am the way, the truth, and the life no one comes to the father but by me." John 14:6 Ask God to reveal this to you- He will! "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 ADMIT THAT YOU'RE A SINNER. We've all broken God's laws and ten commandments.. "Thou shalt not lie, steal, covet, dishonor parents, take God's name in vain.."(Exodus 20) We do not have righteousness on our own to get to heaven, "God made him (Jesus) who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." 2 Cor. 5:21 Godly sorrow leads to genuine repentance for sinning against the righteous God and there is a change of heart, we change our mind and God changes our hearts and regenerates us from the inside out. God is deadly serious about sin, when we genuinely repent we hate sin just as God hates it, and we turn away from it. "But God commended His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART THAT JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR YOUR SINS, WAS BURIED, AND THAT GOD RAISED JESUS FROM THE DEAD. This is trusting with all of your heart that Jesus Christ is who he said he was. He saves us from sin and hell and brings us into a relationship with him. We become God's children. We are saved from hell, eternal death. "For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13 CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD. Every single person who ever lived since Adam will bend their knee and confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings. Read the Bible, Walk with the Lord and give your life to Him!
