I don't hear any blues in her voice. That's country southern accent. Lil Tennessee coming out in what I am guessing is a song her and Billy Ray used to sing together when she was just a little bitty thing out riding 4-wheelers or something. I'm sure she never forgot where she came from, but she certainly has strayed from the greatness she could have achieved. Don't get me wrong, she is famous and she came into her own woman and made her name her own... But she could have been one of the Greats. She's an old soul. Amazing rendition. Incredibly souful. Great voice with amazing character. It's a shame she wasn't born in time for the 60s and 70s. She would have been comparable to Rondstadt, Anne Wilson, Janis Joplin, Grace Slick, Stevie Nicks, Debbie Harry, Chrissy Hines and the other great female singers of that era. Today's bands don't make music for a singer with a voice this powerful and soulful. The covers she does like this are where her brilliance is so evident.
