According to Yamato Kasai and cassie Wei during the Q&A Livestream, this song was based off Yamato's music career that keeps hitting a wall. It was renamed from Cosmo to Space Colony because "when the rocket crashed, you don't just stop there." There's a hopeful, successful part when a colony was made in the end, which this song doesn't tell. This is why I love Space Colony and why it's my favorite song off all time. It's depressing, but upbeat and hopeful at the same time. So thank you Mili for making this song. :D

So this song is probably about the concept of a rocket launch. Humanity's dreams for the future collectively shooting into the sky. But like a lot of Mili songs, the exciting and whimsical atmosphere leads to a dark ending. During our rocket launch, something goes horribly wrong and in an instant, all of our hopes and dreams explode and fall to the ground. The whole song is a buildup; a rocket heading into the cosmos. It expresses the people of earth watching a streak of light "turning stars into dreams" and the sky blooming with possibilities as we connect with our future as a species. People are cheering with their hands outstretched until that fatal lyric "finally it broke, our ark of hope, with our dreams it bursted open and fell, nowhere to be found". The girl in the picture is most likely a personified rocket ship. We see her as she’s breaking apart and about to explode.

Yeah, this song tells the story of that from the perspective of someone on the ship, presumably female. Cerebrite tells the story of this characters partner who dies with her. Finally excalibur is the story of how the ship was built, and its quite cute actually, its all about rebuilding broken dreams using the rocket debris as a metaphor.

Something I want to add. According to Cassie and Yamato during the Q&A livestream on April, the song was renamed from "Cosmo" to "space Colony" because "when the rocketship crashed, you don't just stop there. You will keep trying over and over again until you succeeded." The story ended happily with a space colony built at the end, which the song didn't tell. So the song is depressing, but also hopeful.

Listening to this song reminds me of that one lucid dream my sis told me she had. She keep saying it felt so real. She was in some apocalyptic future as someone else. She was on a space ship with many people. There was some war going on and humanity had to leave in thousands of spaceships. Many ships were being shot with missiles. Some make it, many don’t. The ship she was in is about to ascend and she prayed that if she died, she asked if she can be given another chance. Her ship ascended and her ship was shot and the dream ends. She woke up crying. It was so intense

Is 'U may' maybe a play on words? 'Yume' is the Japanese word for 'dream', which sounds the same as 'U may'. So perhaps instead of 'U may die', it's might be 'dream(s) die'? Please correct me if I'm wrong. It was just a thought I had. Anyhow, it's a great song! I really love Mili's style of music.
