People are saying that this is Priestess singing, but I honestly think that it's the Noble Fencer, the girl who the party was sent after in the first place. After being tortured and branded, she is initially very cold to all of them emotionally, " *Lay down motionless/I pushed you away* ", but she warms up to the Goblin Slayer and his party as they slay goblins because they refuse to let her wallow in her pain and grief, " *[But] the warmth told me that you should stay/so you stayed/and so you stayed/wrapping me up in your blanket* ". Even more so, though, Goblin Slayer is a guiding hand through the entire movie, pulling her away from the path he went down, helping her heal and teaching her to become stronger, " *You are the light/You taught me what it means to be strong/So I’m not afraid anymore from this moment on/No fear/Only gratitude in tears* ", and by the end of it, she has recovered somewhat from the ordeal. At the end of the movie, she leaves Goblin Slayer and the party, but she leaves more aware of the truths of the world and with the lessons Goblin Slayer taught her, " *Though you’re no longer with me/You’ve given me so much to live on/Your static, it stays.* " This song in the end is about the Noble Fencer and her struggles with putting her fear, grief and anger behind her and the effect that Goblin Slayer has on her. He is what she would become if she followed down that path, and because he does not want anyone else to suffer because of goblins, he saves her, physically, mentally and emotionally, and this song is dedicated to his efforts as a result. The snow is the hurt and the sorrow, and Goblin Slayer pushes through all of that to bring life back into the Noble Fencer, helping her to move on.

I absolutely love fake languages. They give songs such a mystical and mysterious feel. Mili and Emi Evans' chaos type language are always the greatest to listen to; even if they never actually mean anything.

If we are talking about fake languages, I'd say Kajiurago is a must. Maybe because I love Kajiura's compositions, maybe because her was the first fake language I heard, but as you said, it sounds mystical and mysterious. A fake language allows you to focus on the music and what it makes you feel, instead of the lyrics, which may not cover all the spectrum of meaning and emotions the composer wants you to feel.

I think it was perfectly placed for, I think, this is the kind of song you want to use when your characters have already struggled and grown, a song for you to reflect on how many obstacles they had to overcome. When they are sitting by the fire having become a better version of themselves. A sort of conclusive and goodbye song if you will to wrap up in a sentimental and perfect manner.

Just finished Goblin's Crown, and loved it. I'm glad that White Fox decided to adapt this part of the story (which encompasses Volume 5 of the novels) because I love Noble Fencer as a character and her duality with Goblin Slayer. She pretty much finds herself in the same situation as he did all those years ago, alone and those close to her murdered viciously at the hands of the goblins, but rather than let herself wallow, she does what she can to try and fight through her fear and give the little bastards some well-deserved payback. I really hope we get a Season 2 and 3 for Goblin Slayer, because I would love to see her interactions with Sword Maiden animated, as well as Volume 8

There is no other story on LN Vol. 5?

@@turinmormegil7715 Speaking of dialogue and characterization, there was actually a scene between High Elf Archer and Goblin Slayer I was sad to see left out. After they rescue Noble Fencer, High Elf Archer asks if she'll be alright, and when Goblin Slayer says he does not know, she asks him what he means, and he actually snaps at her saying, "What should I have said to her? 'I'm sorry that your friends are dead, but at least you survived?'" It's probably the only time we see him act like this in the whole series, and is the scene that stuck with me the most after finishing the book.

Static was t h e song that hooked me onto Mili. I had heard Rightfully and Birthday Kid prior but this one just blew my mind. I think it's the mili intensity paced by those cathartic moments that entranced me onto their style.
