G'day mate, been meaning to post this for a while. I'm an Aussie, new to the area. Bought a little Boston Whaler last year and started fishing the local reefs. Because of your excellent, informative vids, I've been able to shortcut a lot of the stuff that would have taken me ages to figure out by myself. Local knowledge is invaluable. I ran into your mates L-Train and Big Rich (I think?) out on the MDR reef last year. We had a good yarn catching calicos side by side and I asked them to pass on my gratitude to you. Honeybadger, I'm a recent big fan of your channel since I live in LA and decided to take up kayak fishing a month ago. Your content is pretty much custom made for me. I picked up my Hobie yesterday, so maybe I'll see you out there some day. Peter, that was called a "libation for the dead." It's been a tradition for at least 5,000 years, and is still strong in the military.

Nicely done! MDR looks good, but I am still stunned by the fact that a boater in 2018 struck and killed a women kayaker in the no wake zone without facing any charges for negligence! Obviously an accident, that's still failure to keep a good lookout, and involuntary manslaughter! Do you happen to know any details about that incident?

i had heard something vague about that. what a tragedy. a couple of years ago, i almost got run over while hanging out near the mouth of the harbor by a sailboat that came screaming in off the open water. boating is like any other activity - not everyone playing the game is going to be smart or careful. that's why i constantly preach not to hang out near the mouth of the harbor.
