Nigeria had a team of special forces who were capable of eliminating the insurgency with little efforts, even with the bottle neck by the military, this team achieved success shunning their commanders (even the current defense chief, Gen. Irabor recieve slaps in their hands as he was trying to impede their success, same as gen Ezegwu) this team was train in Belarus, and partly Ukraine, they were fearless and no amount of non state actors could stand them, the military knew this was coming to an end, next thing, they were disengaged, today, Nigeria is back to where it was before these guys were deployed.
