Rachelle and Justin I never knew you could "adopt" a solider, this is great! definitely going to look into it! Also, for themes, my best friend moved across the country, I live in NM and she lived in FL, at first she was having a hard time adjusting so I would send her care packages about once a month and so I would like to theme them too. My favorite one was the "Sunny Santa Fe" theme (We love the movie Rent and Santa Fe is our home town) but everything in the package was yellow. I think it makes it fun for you to find objects that are just a certain color but fun for them too :) P.S. Love your channel ❤

Rachelle, I have always wanted to thank someone for their service, but I'm always to shy, or afraid of what other people could tell me because i wasn't born here. because of our service men and women like Justin, I have freedom, Thank you! and thank you because I realized that not only do they make a sacrifice for our freedom, but so do you and the many children, wives, mom's,dad's that lose precious time with their lived ones. When my parents were young, every 18-19 year old had to enroll for a year. My dad started when he was 19, cause they had his graduation, a wedding and a baby when he was 18. (they've almost been married for 30 years now, whoop!:D) and a few years earlier I found the letters they sent to eachother. It's literally the cutest, and most heartbreaking things I've ever read. Since my sister was around 6 months old, so my mum was on payed leave with her (she was a nurse before, so she had 60% of her salary monthly) and military payed next to nothing, they were kinda broke, and they couldn't really buy lot of envelopes, so they both bought one of the cheapest magazines and origami-d envelopes from it. I love it, because it shows, that even though they didn't really have money, the did everything to keep in touch at least weekly. And I remember that everytime my mum asked what he wanted in his package, he answered "socks, cause the boots are wearing them out and underwear", haha, and sometimes my great grandma sent him some homemade snacks as a surprise. I can't imagine how hard it was for them (and sometimes how boring for dad, haha), specially without all the modern things we have now, like...they didn't have TVs, computers, phones, etc. But I do believe it made them stronger...they made it through teen parenthood, financial troubles, troubles with my father's family, pregnancy loss, struggling for 10 years after my sister to have me, and after almost 30 years now that my dad decided to become a truck driver (weird? yeah, I'd say midlife crisis, hahaha) somehow their love is again stronger than ever, talking on the phone, everyday for 1.5 hours like teenagers. And the reason I shared this (looooooong) story with you, is because this outcome is what I wish you to have, I wish you to come out of every hard situation stronger than ever, together

i love how you decorated the box!! i dont have any tips, but notes and letters are timeless, my husband and i write eachother notes when we dont get to see eachother as much, its so nice being able to see the hand written notes instead of just texts and stuff. While my husband was deployed I sent him a package every month and wrote him a letter everyday kind of like my diary. For holidays I would send a package for him and then little packages for all of our military family. They all love it and definitely make sure they have lots of snacks and they even loved little games that you can get from gag gift shops and little prank items they can use on each other to make the times and a little bit more happy:)

Love this video ! My stepdad said when he was deployed that the care packages is what he looked forward to the most and we always sent multiple things because so many other servicemen weren't getting care packages and my boyfriend is deployed now too and he said the same thing ): but my cousin just went through a deployment with her husband and she always decorated her boxes and he loved it so much. Last thing lol I thought the 10 things I miss about you was such a cute idea!

great ideas! Such a sweet wife! a hard drive filled with songs and movies is also awesome! If they have a switch you can send games for that too. letter writing materials if youd like them to write back, soaps, shampoos, chew or cigarettes' even if they don't smoke because they can use it to make friends/ money! also no vapes or bug spray on ship because they can technically explode lol they'll just send your package back to you.

I found this vlog really interesting. I didn't know that they would need to pay for snacks and stuff on a ship. You did a great job and wish we could see a clip from when Justin opens it. My bfs fave thing in the world is cereal, but they serve the same thing for breakfast from what he told me every single day (yuck)i couldnt stuff a bunch of cereal boxes into a flat rate box so i got a buck of boxes of cereal bars! My best friend is going to go away sometime this year.. I am sad about it but I am happy for her and so so proud of her. Is there a limit on how often you can send one? Is there anything that you should avoid sending? I know when she DOES go, I am going to send her as much as I can. I am going to savor a our time together. She's my best friend and my rock. I am trying to get into journaling so that I can vent while shes gone, but since you said you send him videos I might just do that! Cause saying outloud will get it off my chest and knowing she will eventually see it will be even better. :D

Is she military? I know each branch has different do's and don'ts regarding what is good and not good to send. I would double check with her command or unit and see if they have a list of "care package needs" and go based on that, with a few things you personally know she'd love :)

Maybe he should invest in a kindle fire - when my dad was deployed to Kabul in Afghanistan he took one because we couldn't really sent him stuff cause they moved around and we weren't aloud to know where he really was but it meant that books didn't take up any space and he could buy books when he wanted a new one, keep strong and hold on tight Xx
