Ground war is not needed so Houthis are at a disadvantage. The objective is to prevent Houthis from launching missiles and drones at civilian ships. There is no Jewish state next door to go commit atrocities against civilians so the sea is the only place Houthis can strike. They don’t have long range weapons to reach Israel. Allied forces can lock into any location they fire rockets from and return fire. If they decide to go put rockets in the civilians areas and launch strike against allied forces they will get the fire returned back to them. There is no ceasefire. If you launch missiles at other navies you can’t be surprised if your adversary returns fire. The victim card is not easy to use here.

Before I retired as a merchant marine engineer, we transited this region many times carrying donated food aid to famine stricken counties in Africa and the Middle East, and back then, it was bad enough trying to defend our ship with fire hoses against the threat of Somali pirates armed with AK's and RPG's. I live in central Missouri about 70 miles from Whiteman AFB where the B2-A bombers are based. During the Afghanistan war I would occasionally hear a B2 flying overhead and read about a B2 strike in Afghanistan a couple of days later. Two days ago I heard three B2s fly overhead. What a misleading report. Your initial ‘expert’ led the audience to believe that the decision to carry out these strikes was a US decision and yet that is not the case. This was a coalition decision. Whilst the expert briefly mentioned a coalition he referred to them rather vaguely as “and other countries.” When one works alongside coalition partners it would be prudent to recognise them. Despite that, the that attack cost them 4x the amount of causalities compared to the U.S., which had the fully capability of continuing the war, but had no political backing or public interests to continue as most people in the U.S. did not know or care about Vietnam (some people didn't even know it existed). It has nothing to do with war capability, it has everything to do with political and economic interest and support. It's the same as Afghanistan. The U.S. took it over easily, and then left because it was political in the interest of Donald Trump to look like he's "anti-war" administration. The American public was completely ignorant and had no idea the U.S. military, but also civilian partners (internationally) was even still present in the region working with the Afghan people. Unfortunately for the Afghani people, many in the U.S., like Vietnam, had little care or interest in supporting the Afghani people due to their ignorance and assumptions. Funny thing, after Vietnam War, Vietnam works with U.S. as a trade partner and don't care for China much.
