The answer to this problem is that all countries who use this route need to contribute their military to shut this down. However, this isn’t a realistic answer and the US is the one that has the most to lose right now from this so we as a nation have to step up on this front. That being said this is another reason for why globalization isn’t always a good thing. I hope that the US continues to look at opportunities to relocate key manufacturing to other parts of the world to diversify and protect ourselves when one region becomes unstable

The way shipping companies raise the freight cost to almost double over the past month is disgusting. Yes, they take longer route and need to consume more fuel but they also doesn't need to pay Suez canal exorbitant cost. Furthermore, everyone in shipping industries know they have massive oversupply of ships because they all being shortsighted and order too much new ships on 2022.
